Voile wrote Any takers on the 'How do I land in your reality?' game??? One agreeing to the terms of the game/exercise, would openly ask participants to express their perception of how the ‘asking’ candidate ‘occurs’ (impressions) to them. The asking candidate would have to agree not to criticize or argue with the comments of the participant providing ‘his/her’ perceptions. May ask ‘honest’ clarifying questions as long as they are not designed to get back at the participant. The participant, on the other hand, would agree to make a ‘straight’, and as objective as possible comment of their perception. Clear communications, free of overpowering emotions, and attacks, are most effective: ‘… in my reality, you land as …’. The gift of the whole exercise, is the opportunity to truly and sincerely open oneself and ‘hear’, ‘receive’, ‘let be’ the perceptions others have of one, for what they are, perceptions. In the end, those perceptions are much more a part of one’s own reality, than your one's own perceptions which excludes others'. Denying it, disagreeing with it, or attacking those perceptions we don't like, will not change the fact we all either ‘bump-up’ against, or dance more smoothly with the ‘reality’ of interconnected perceptions. What are your thoughts? Do we think that it would be worth giving this exercise a crack on this thread?!?!? ooh ooh I'm in

( I may need to check in later, it's 3.00am, and I am FINALLY tired. ) Jess, you posted just before I did, and from what you indicate, you would be clearly 'IN play', and even volunteer as the first candidate to the 'how does one land in others reality?' So let's give this a roll: 'How does Jess land in Creative, Differentkindofwench, ArtGurl and Voileazur reality'??? (If you agree, I offer to act as very light moderator, through e-mail, or on-line, just to get the exercise rolling in the right direction ('UP').) If anyone else, other than the ones listed above, wishes to play from this point on, they can do so by posting a comment. It will be assumed, by posting a comment, that the poster agrees to the ‘simple’ ‘good faith’ rules of the game. Simple enough?!!? So, … Playball :) |

Mediate? I welcome all aspects of me, and how I land in another's reality.
I am quite comfortable with learning about me, from any who choose to share, and then if so, wish to support that with posts of mine. I believe that mediation, can be done by all who wish to participate, Wench, Voile, Andrea, Michael, Sherrie, any. I have a strong faith in the capacity to be as authentic as we are, in sharing our understandings of each other, critical, or otherwise. |

Invisible is clearly 'IN'. And given the fab poem, I'd argue that Abra is teasing to be 'IN' by invitation, so Abra you are officially 'invited'!!! We're currently opening the lines on ... ... 'How 'jess' lands in our realit(ies)?!?!'. |

This is more of an anecdote style observation: Jess and I were both participating in a thread once about how to live with the earth/nature rather than destroy it. In effect, we were tip toeing around with our posts trying to be polite and not get anyone riled up or step on any toes, as a lot of the core opinions regarding the subject matter were pretty well known among the participants, i.e. who felt how about what, but lets all brain storm anyway to see if we can find solutions style thread. It was horrendous. The conversation was stilted and stammerish. Jess finally had enough and just stated: "Ya know if we just said what we think and quit trying to be polite and tip toeing around each other this would work a lot better." It did. It would be awesome to be able to be that direct all the time. She has an innate ability of knowing when to just spit it out there and when to gentle what she has to say. Me, I know how to spell tact, but employing it pssshh, not so good.

Unfortunately sometimes I even forget the spelling of the word tact. In fact, I can be downright rude. I try not to be, but if something riles me I just can't help myself.

I too find I am hard and unyeilding in my views when opposed. I really try to be diplomatic but in the heat of the moment, forget diplomacy
