not the scrum in rugby?????
i'm soooo confusedtears

Yes, the scrum laugh
Professional footballers here do a lot of fake diving, and make out there hurt.
Rugby player's have bloody noses and cauliflower ears laugh

I think the smaller league clubs are better.
not my saints they would never do anything like thatonly pro team I watch prefer college football

Hi ragin , it's the British and European football I'm referring to. hopefully it's different with yours.
Sad really that these players have to revert to these tactics, maybe it's because really they are not that good laugh
When I was at school pulling on the shirt of another player was a foul, now they hold on pushing them.
This kind of foul play plus the scum who played a part in the endless violence in the 70's and 80s put me off football for good.

Pulling someone's shirt was a foul? That harsh? In my days, you ripped someone's shirt off, that guy got a spare one, and back onto the pitch he went laugh

No larsi the ripping off of the shirts was in the changing rooms along with there shorts just before they got in a big bath together, but that's a different thread laugh

actually, yes, any contact was a foul I think?

Aye. Contact, as in kicking, tripping or punching. Just a wee pull on someone's shirt wasn't a big deal

To be honest, you can't really blame the newer players for diving and such
It's always been a case of play to the whistle
So 9 times out of 10 if you can get away with something, it just becomes common practice, you don't bellyache about it, you just get on with it
I'm all for red cards for 2 footed leg breakers
But I was always taught, as long as you go in with 1 foot, and play the ball first, it doesn't matter if you go through him, in fact it's a bonus
Nowadays you can make a great tackle, play the ball first, it was then unavoidable not to go through him, and get sent off
Well I'm sorry, but that's just bolloc∆s , and I hate divers too

We are the Leeds scum
We are the Leeds scum
We are the Leeds Scum
We are the Leeds scum

We are the champions
Champions of Europe
We are the champions

whoa
What year did Colchester beat Leeds? whoa laugh

Yes, in a proper tackle you can't avoid contact.
Getting away with diving and other under handed stuff is in a way cheating.
When they showed those old clips in black and white of Bury you didn't have any of that, guess like you say, times change.
Also it doesn't show a good example to the youngsters.
