I would not reply to no picture and no profile, or a message that just says "hi". I need more info and need to see some effort. I glance at pictures but am more interested in ages and locations.

this site will not allow me to fill out my info I called them a few times and they responded by text of course and they say there's nothing that they can do so I can't even fill out my profile fully

Saying "hi" is good for starting a Good convesation.perhaps no one is god .he/she don't know what interest you or your likes and dislikes.so it better to say a "hi" than saying that may annoy you!

People can and do lie in their profiles so we shouldn't take what is written as gospel. How do you meet people in the real world? They are all strangers unless we say something to them, even if they offered no info about themselves. Sure they could be shy or a fake but we don't know until we exchange messages.
It takes little effort to reply and if they are fake and you question why no info on the profile you will not get an answer. |

I did and she is now my gf (for over 2 years).
Her profile was minimal but her first message hit some vital points which inspired me to reply. She mentioned recent specific local details and after a few messages we exchanged number and she has the same area code and local prefix. This told me she was local and real. |

We can't read other person mind and can't predict the person is the one that we want to chat with. If a person doesn't put an effort to write something, why should we need to take the time to reply a "hi" from a stranger?
