Hey Dee! Yes it did, and the weekend is just about over
I love your profile picture I hope you had a fun weekend and I'm glad you're feeling better. Not much happened this past week. I went on a road trip to Riverton, WY on Thursday, I needed to go to Walmart and get a fan. The scenery was amazing. I had to drive over Togwotee Pass, the elevation at the top is 9,655 feet Both Gypsy (my car, lol) and I handled it well. Guess I'm acclimating to the higher elevations pretty good. When I first got here and went over Teton Pass, I got a bit of altitude sickness, had to stay away from the cliffs when I walked around. Other than that I did a little hiking around here, went up the hill towards the woods. I mostly just relaxed and enjoyed having my own space The company is supposed to be getting more kayaks for the employees, so hopefully next Thursday I'll be able to get out and do a little kayaking. Have a wonderful week |

Hi River and thanks for the compliment I like to change my profile pic every once in a while My weekend was good, except for the pain in my neck! I hope I see some improvement soon. Itโs been really hot ๐ฅต here and will be for the next few days. Is it hot out there? I saw on the news that thereโs been a huge heat wave out West! I hope you have fun on your kayak trip! Iโm not brave enough to do that! And I hope you have a good week too! |

Dee... Are you brave enough to go on a hot air balloon ride?
The lake path for the kayaks isn't too bad. They don't allow you to go in some parts because it's too deep and the weather is unpredictable. It's not like river kayaking like I did last summer. No rapids or anything major. They do offer river rafting, I might try that as well. There's a guide that steers the raft and the passengers pretty much just enjoy the ride, at least I think so. Back to the hot air balloon ride... I'm thinking a sunrise balloon ride with a view of the Tetons and a good looking man for company sounds pretty awesome, and romantic A man I met a while back asked me if I wanted to go with him. It's a little costly, but also a once in a lifetime experience so I said yes! I'm a little nervous, but also really excited. It's been cooler the last couple days, but the rest of the week is expected to be hot. I'm glad I got my fan, it helps a little. I hope your neck feel better soon |

@Dee... have you seen a good therapist? I recall you mentioning a physio? Maybe you're better of with an osteopath or cranio-sacral therapist. They can likely sort it right away. Some things are beyond the scope of a physio.
And osteopathy is relatively soft -but VERY effective- compared to chiropractor. The latter go 'through' it (boundaries) so to speak, the first doesn't which is better for the body. @River... enjoy all the things you do. A balloon ride sounds very exciting! |

Thanks Crystal, I am. And yes, the balloon ride sounds exciting. Hopefully we'll get to go, they are pretty booked through July. There's availability on the 30th, so fingers crossed. We'll be talking later to make definite plans.

@ Crystal....thanks for the info! Iโm just about at my wits end with this pain . Iโm going to physical therapy but not much relief so far. I have a Dr. appointment on the 15th so I hope we can figure out what more options I have. Maybe a chiropractor might help. I need an MRI to pinpoint the problem, so wish me luck!
And River, Iโm not sure that I could do the hot air balloon ride either! But sounds exciting for you! Maybe your new fella will turn out to be the man of your dreams....only in reality! Weโre in for a rainy holiday weekend but I hope we have at least one nice sunny day! I hope you have a great time and Iโm looking forward to hearing all about it |

Dee, I'm so sorry you're still in so much pain. Best of luck with the MRI, I hope they are able to pinpoint the problem.
Haha, anything's possible I suppose. But at this point we're just friends getting to know each other, kind of like activity partners. I've been wanting to go hiking deeper into the woods, but it's not safe going alone. He's a avid hiker, 10 to 20 miles a day But he's agreed to take me on 3 to 5 mile hikes. That's about all I can handle right now. At least I hope so, so far I've only hiked about a mile and a half per outing Maybe having someone else with me will help make it less tedious. Our balloon ride is scheduled for August 6th. I'm really excited I read about balloon rides to get an idea of what to expect. Supposedly a very gentle ride and you feel safe and secure in the basket. It doesn't bounce around like I had imagined. It looks like it might rain right now, but we've been having really dry weather. The fire danger is in the red zone right now, so they canceled fireworks for all of Teton County. And they're having forest fire training this week for the employees. Hopefully your sunny day will be on the 4th. |

Hi River! We actually had a great weekend with lots of sun and no rain! Saturday night we watched some fireworks from our driveway, so glad we didnโt have to drive over town and fight the traffic. I bet you got to see some really good ones out there. Yesterday we went to a friendโs house for a cookout and they also had some nice fireworks. Hope you had an awesome weekend and a great week ahead |

Dee, that's awesome! I'm glad your weekend turned out good with no rain. And always nice when you don't have to leave home to see the fireworks
They canceled the fireworks here, so I didn't get to see any. But the employee dining room had a nice 4th of July picnic for us. Food was yummy and they had huckleberry banana splits for dessert. I have one more Friday to work and then I'm back to having two days a week off. It will be nice to have that again. Starting next week, my friend and I are going to start going kayaking on Friday mornings. And he wants to go camping occasionally on Thursdays, so now I'll be able to do that as well. Just a friendship thing, but it's helping me get out and do more. I hope you have a wonderful week to come as well. |

@Dee, hope the MRI will shed some light on things.
Physio usually doesn't do much when you have a more serious problem. Alleviation often, but not always a solution. Personally I'd find an osteopath or cranial-sacral therapist as these are specialised in all concerning skull and entire spine. And what they can do and know is amazing. Osteopathy is a 6 yr study, which is the same as a basic doctor. In any case, good luck! @ River, sounds like you're living the life, haha! Enjoy it, girl, you deserve it! I hope you can stay there for a long time to come since you're so happy! |

@ River, sounds like you're living the life, haha! Enjoy it, girl, you deserve it! I hope you can stay there for a long time to come since you're so happy! Thanks Crystal I have to leave on October 14th, my seasonal work ends at that time. But I can always come back next year. If they give me the same room, a single one, then I just might but I haven't decided yet. |

Hi River.....itโs nice that you were able to enjoy an employee picnic since there were no fireworks . Iโm sure lots of places out west had to cancel them because of the heat and dry conditions
Hope you will enjoy having a couple of days off each week and have fun kayaking and camping ๐ with your friend! Iโm looking forward to hearing all about it! @ Crystal....thanks! I had my last PT appointment today and Iโm going to see my Dr. on the 15th, so hopefully we can figure out the best course of treatment for me |

Hi Dee... I hope the doctor steers you in the right direction so you can be pain free as soon as possible.
Today was my last Friday to work, I'm really happy about that. I'll at least have next week to possibly enjoy kayaking. The marina is closing in two weeks, so that activity will no longer be available. Seems Idaho is having a drought, along with the rest of us. The farmers need more water, so the people who own part of Jackson Lake are draining some of our water and sending more through the damn into Snake River. Snake River flows through Idaho, so that will help them with their water shortage. Rafting is still an option, provided there's availability. Hope you and everyone else has a wonderful weekend! |
