My Pyrenees started laying down in the middle of walks. She weighed 147 lbs. pain meds and anti inflammatory s made it worse. Trying to decide at what point do I put her down. She became worse.I tried even the best dog food at 6-7 cups a day,Which she hated.Solution, I now feed 2x a day. 1 cup of dry dog food, 1 cup of chopped gr bean, carrot, celery raw mixed. 1 decored apple. 1/3 cup cooked boneless, skinless chicken, 1/3 cup wet dog food. She dropped to 126.4 lbs.She did a 180. I think her food change alone saved her.The weight loss was vital. The low temps get to her once in awhile & I dose her once of Carprofen & Tramadol if she struggles getting up.So far only 2doses in 6 months, wow, she’s happy!

Overweight dogs are very common here in the U.S. unfortunately. It can cause not only skeletal but also heart problems.

My seventy-five pound Golden got about a bit more than a cup of food a day and lived to be sixteen without any health problems. Some folks feed their toy poodles twice that.
