Failing to respond is by definition NOT a response. And it still begs the question of why choose someone as a match in the first place.

Can't recall about here but on other dating sites with match gadget you could go through 100 possible matches a day for free.
So I sometimes did that and then clicked 'match' whenever I saw someone that seemed interesting. This could be one, none, five, ten etc.

That didn't mean I was going to contact and/or react to all. More like putting them on hold to review. I never dated anyone of them nor was there messaging with any of them as far as I can remember. Non of the men I clicked 'yes' to contacted me either btw.

It's a gadget, an extra option, and a rather old-fashioned one.
I've never seen it on newer and paid-for dating sites, only older & free ones.
I see it more as entertainment as it never leads to anything. I don't even bother with it, nor take it seriously.
