There’s lots to do and see in Budapest. I recommend House of Terror which is an exhibition telling the stories of the facist and communist regimes…very thought provoking. There is also the Great Market Hall but the stall holders don’t like you handling their fruit and veg so bear that in mind. You must also take a trip to Buda. The transportation is excellent and you can buy a short term travel pass to get around. The West End shopping centre in Pest caters for all needs and there are plenty coffee shops and pubs to visit also. Margaret Island is worth a visit too. It sits in the middle of the Danube, which is covered in parkland and recreational facilities. You can hire self powered vehicles to explore the island. You need to visit the Shoes on the Danube Banks which is a memorial to those who were shot into the Danube during the war. Hope you get a chance to visit some of the aforementioned. Enjoy Budapest!

Agree with what Delightful has said above. I'd also add Hungarian Parliament Building -- STUNNING. Also, have lunch at New York Cafe, which is touted as being the most beautiful restaurant in the world. It really is beautiful. The view from Buda Castle is pretty amazing as well.
