actually it doesn't it could be either it is just how and what side of brain you use. really has nothing to do with optimism or pessimism.

How do I know what side of the brain I use? I thought it was whether you seen it half full or half empty.

im not saying you or i know what part of the brain you use, i learned in pyschology class, you eyes give off signals that will trigger either your right or left side of the brain which helps you come to the conlcusion of picking one or the other. it has something to do with spatial visiblity.

actually it doesn't it could be either it is just how and what side of brain you use. really has nothing to do with optimism or pessimism. left brain people are more logical thinkers while right brained people are more feeling and emotion based. as far as the spacial thing goes. I think you mean that spatial perception is a right brain function while order and pattern perception is left brain function. But I dont see how either of these would change whether you see the glass as half empty or half full. |

if a person is more dominant in one side than the other as most are they are more likely to pick from experiences from visual things or emotional.
|

again if it is half the optional word is empty or full, so I don't see how visualization would have anything to do with it. Naturally mood would be taken into account but we are assuming the person is having an average day.
The question is what many use to distinguish whether someone is optimistic or pessimistic and thats why I asked what the drink is. No matter which you are whether or not you like the drink will effect your answer. |

some people are definitely more doom/gloom and some more easygoing/happy to be around. I pick my friends out of the 2nd group

I pick my friends out of the 2nd group I agree, logical or emotional, people tend to have a certain outlook. I too prefer the positive thinkers as I am and negative thinkers drain the energy from those around them.
