wierd, I guess the other has to match and say yes too, but how did the mutual match come up if no one said yes to begin with? really wierd.

My questions is how do you get rid of the mutual match?
this thing is ****ed.

It seems strange to me, too, that people would ask to be a match and not talk again. What's with that?

could be from the person who wants to be ur m.m., mightve had second thoughts, people do things at the spur of the moment, then realize, oh shi*, I didnt mean to send that to that person, and they dont reply again. If they didnt reply, they are not the right person for you, thats what i always say.

MM is the most irritating thing about JSH.mad you spend time going through bunches of matches, say yes, no or maybe, (maybe is the same as yes by the way)huh and you get a few that said yes or maybe to you.... happy GREAT!!! right? NOT.sad if you should dare to send an email to someone you assume might be interested in you, you are either shot down or ignored.explode The theroy is they said yes or maybe on you too right? I'm not sure. I get emails saying that someone wants to meet me, then when I do MM I sometimes get the notification that I have a MM. I have never gotten a message from a MM. I'm thinking that there is something not working right.noway

It seems no one understands how MM works.

ddn just because YOU click "Yes" or "Maybe" on THEIR profiles doesn't mean THEY will do the same for YOU.

For a Mutual Match to be made and listed on both of your profiles it has to be MUTUAL.

The MM system will go through EVERY profile that fits the parameters you set in your search. Just happily go through all those faces and descriptions clicking away on the Yes/No/Maybe buttons.

I've found that anyone I think I might be interested in I need to right click on the picture then select "open in new window" to have a look at her profile before choosing "Yes/Maybe". The MM selection pages needs to put the basic info up along with the picture and the brief blurb of their description - but that's fodder for another post.

Once you've gone through all the selections it gives you - or you're sick and tired of clicking for the time being - just sit back and wait.

Some of those profiles are from people who were only here one day checking the site out and they'll never come back. Some of those people will click "No" when you come up on their selection pages for whatever reason - and you'll never see their smiling faces on your MM list. Eventually though you'll get some Mutual Matches. You're interested in them - they're interested in you. Even if only just a little on one side or the other.

Now send them an email saying hello. Heck, you've both already broken the ice so just go for it.

Yes, some of them will have second thoughts and won't respond to your emails. Big deal. Does every person you say hi to at the club or in the produce aisle smile warmly and say hello back? Deal with it and move on.

Another thing to remember: YOU may fit someone else's search parameters and they'll click "Yes/Maybe" when your picture comes up in their selection process. Then YOU will get an email saying "someone wants to meet you" or some such nonsense. Go back into your MM selection process and see who it is. Click whatever button you deem appropriate and continue the strange and wonderful dance that is online dating.

We hope you enjoy your ride as you will the rest of your day at Six Flags Amusement Dating.

Now THERE'S a helluva idea for a singles meet. drinker

This is the thing that I find a little disconcerting -- I have my search parameters set for 200 miles; because, when I was looking, I was hoping to meet someone reasonably nearby. But I regularly get MM picks from 47-year-old women with 3 kids from Georgia, or wherever. Since they're outside of my search area, I know they wouldn't be in there unless they rated me a MAYBE or a YES. I also know they haven't read my profile because if they had, they would know better....!

And, AD, thank you for providing that explanation of how MM works. That has been an onging source of confusion for a lot of members, and Mike has informed me he intends to post a more detailed MM "instruction manual" in the near future.

Lex I think we've talked about this before. I'm baffled by some of the people who have clicked "Yes/Maybe" on my in their MM selections. How the HELL do I come up on their lists?? And how do they expect anything to develop over 852 miles of separation??

I think Mike should just ask ME to write up the description of Mutual Match.

Actually, I guess maybe I already did here huh?? huh
