Hey everyone, just wanted to know how many have their own websites and how you are doing with them? I started one almost 2 years ago but though it ranks well in some search engines it just isn't making enough to cover the costs of hosting it. Can someone give me some advice? www.exploring-the-amalfi-coast.com
I appreciate it. Post your site here too so we can all gain experience and learn more.

adsense/adwords/affiliates - any advice?

It looks like you have a lot of information there but your biggest downfall is the way the info is presented. It's not very user friendly. If you really want to turn a profit or at least make it pay for itself you'll need to do some research and a lot of learning. I can point you in the right direction if you seriously want to make it work. Web design/development is my profession.

As soon as I go over there I will have more info then I can put more into it. Thanks for the offer! I have lots of info on ads and google adsense...it's getting people to click on the google ads that I need help with too. But I guess it's a numbers game...the more that get to the site the more possibilities of people clicking. I will keep you posted :)

Being a php coder, I found your site a little out of alignment it is not that easy on the eye. However you really should add some Adsense etc, advertise it where you can for free of course.

I would put my site here but wouldnt be right as its a community site like this one laugh

I have three sites, they would be well if I would do my part with them. I recently started to revive them.

I use AdBrite, Adsense it too strict IMO.

I use search engines and traffic echanges to gain traffic. Works well for me, but TEs aren't for everyoen, so you may not get the same results.

I would get a shorter domain name for your site, one that's easier to remember.

Every site is different, what works for one, may not work for another. Research and try different things to see what works best for you and your site.

Adsense is a great tool, and if done correctly can make you lots of revenue Google Joel Comm he has got some great advice, I actually only started to make money from Adsense after listening to him.

Thanks! I made the site thru sitebuild.com - it's like a fill in type format. I am learning as I go. I had a partner when it started and then he left...he was the technical one. How do I change the font...is there an easy cheatsheet anywhere? Would you mind if I emailed you directly?

Thanks
Lucy
