you get a mutual match if you check either yes or maybe when someone is interested in you.

well hmm i have 45 mutual matches and i get replies from them maybe 5 percent of the time. most live to far away for me to reply

I too want to know how mutual match is suppose to work. I get mutual matches and I send them a note. I get maybe 3% of them to respond. Can't understand why they call it mutual match, to me that means you think each other are interesting and want to get to know the other one better. I think they should rename it!
