Obama praising Ronald Reagan? Reagan was a hack, taking credit for other peoples work while referring to Nelson Mandelas movement as "terrorists". Ok, so maybe he's trying to pick up republican votes, but c'mon, Reagan?;^]

None of the democratic candidates have the courage to speak their true convictions to the American public. They say what they think you want to hear. The problem is not everyone wants to here the same message. Thats why you see them flip flop so much on issues. Obama is no exception. I know all I need to know about the man. He is a liberal... will say anything to get elected.

Republicans do the exact same thing, though the dems have a few good examples of being consistant and true to conviction, mainly Kucinich & Gravel. There are liberal republicans & conservative democrats, but I refuse to vote on partisonship, I stick with the issues and where the candidate stands on them. Conservative on some things, liberal on others is where I stand;^]

Of course, I'm still gonna support Obama, I'm just sick of all the talking of Reagan like he was some kind of God. May have been a good communicator but that don't make his thievery or his bigotry right;^]

Makes no sense to me either. I will vote for the person that falls closest in line to what I believe. For the first time in my life I am leaning to the center.

I disagree, Clinton balanced the budget & did more good than bad, though he did cause some problems for poor folks. But Reagan really didn't do any good at all, Gorbechef ended the cold war, the Iranians only released the hostages because Carter left office, while Reagan offered support to the Afrikaners in Apartheid that slaughtered the south African people. I'd go as far as to say almost as bad as Andrew Jackson;^]

Sorry pal, wrong on all points http://www.cato.org/pub_display.php?pub_id=6107
While you were still taking naps in your crib I was in the Gulf of Oman involved in Operation Evening Light. My brother was in a Spectre crew in the Iranian desert. Been there. Done that. Bought the t-shirt. The peanut farmer did not trust the military to get the job done so in short he cost us lives. I watched the HH-53's take off with Delta Force. They did not bring the hostages back. They died. One AC-130 with crew was lost. Khomeini knew that Reagan was not going to be a push over like Carter.

It's a shame how some forget so quickly how Reagan instilled fear in our enemies. They'll never give him the credit he deserves.

I admit my bias because of the apartheid issue, but I still don't see it. History shows the Iranians waiting for Carter to leave office. It's a shame though everybody turned against Carter in the government, while we do need force once in a while it is nothing without diplomacy.

But back to Reagan, he still definatly did more harm than good. Regardless of his support for the Apartheid system in south Africa he enabled Saddam to gas the Iranians and the Kurds as well did he enable Osama to become what he became. Better than Clinton? I don't think so, Clinton was the one who put together the team to hunt Osama, even tried to bomb him but missed. Seems most hardline conservatives today have forgotten that;^]
