Bally's is always affordable and it's right smack in action.

but if you're going with a group of people, i suggest getting a room at the Venetian (split the cost); it sleeps 6 people... you get a sofa bed, 2 queen size bed, 2 tv's, a sweeeeeet bathroom and royalty treatment. And plus it's walking distance to all of hotels and you can basically drag each other back to the room when ya'll are inebriated to walk :)

and if you want to celebrate biiig, i suggest going to Tangerine at the Treasure Island or TAO inside the Venetian. OR if you want to go to a bigger clubs, book your passes now! OR you can get a limo + VIP passes ($100 each person) just so you won't have to wait in line. OR better yet, get a bottle service drinker drinker drinker

i love VEGAS, I took my sister there on her 21st last year and she LOOOOOVED it

i agree. you can check out www.travelzoo.com or vegas.com or basically check out the hotel website.

or check out the Hilton, it's a blog or so from the strip.

HARRIS is in the strip too! it's pretty affordable and you're still on the strip :)

I was in Vegas last June, stayed at the Mirage. Great Pool, room was just eh. The week after I left the temp hit 117 degrees. Night clubs are just way to crowded for me. Bellagio has the best water show. The Venetian is the coolest place but Im Italian so judge it for yourself. Oh yeah Hooters is indeed a lovely place to eat.

I've stayed in many of the Strip and Fremont Street hotels while doing business and visiting down there.. but it can be a pain. The crowd is overwhelming...driving and parking a real project.

Now, I tend to go to the places that the locals recommend. Off srip. My Ex Wife always reserved rooms for me at places like Sam's Town or Boulder Station, when I came into town.

The rooms were cheaper and better, the Casinos not as crowded, and in many ways.. the food and service were better.

Taking a shuttle to the strip or Fremont is no big deal.

Sam's Town, 5111 Boulder Hwy, 456-7777, 1-800-634-6371, 650 rooms, 650 rooms, $60-90

Boulder Station, 4111 Boulder Hwy, Las Vegas, 432-7777, 1-800-683-7777, 300 rooms, $62-99.99

 wish I was going there myself. Here are a few hotels: Riveria, Treasure Island, Rio (off the strip but they have Madi Gra at 4pm, 6p, 8p, 10p and midnight -- awesome show.) Need to stop at Slots of Fun for a TALL drink and also plan on going to Freemont street closer to dusk. They have a light show every hour and the street vendors are awesome!!

if you want "affordable", try some of the off-the-beaten-path casino/hotels, like the "Boulder Station". I stayed there once a couple of years ago- it's not crowded like the hotels on the strip, the rates are a steal, and the slots are looser than the other places. yeah, there's a lot of corporate-fooderies there (Pizza Hut, McDonald's, etc.), but it's cheap so who's complaining?

i'd stay away from "Circus Circus", too- it's run-down, there's screaming kids running all over the place, and the overall clientèle consists of families letting their screaming rugrats tear the place up. so unless you like getting hit on by a drunk housewife or husband from somewhere unmentionable, that's definitely not the place to go.

the "Hard Rock" is another cool place to go- lots of celebs go there, as well as some of the "prettier" crowd. it's also one of the more expensive places to go to, as well.
