My long haired Shepherd Tasha loves to fetch so much she will chase a rock or pine cones!
Also My hybrid wolf Annie (Tasha mated with a grey wolf in the mountains) Annie is by far the most docile dog I have ever had! She stalks a mouse like a cat!

Thanks! Yep he was a massive dog. He would never eat dog food or table scraps. We knew he hunted and he eventually got to old to catch some of the animals in the woods, so he went for the farmers cows. The farmer warned us the first time and we did try to keep him close to home but he didnt. The second time the farmer caught him in the act. Shot him, and brought him home to us so we could bury him. We were lucky the farmer was good about it. He could have made us pay for the cows.

When I was a kid I wanted a pet skunk (de-skunked, of course) to walk around on a leash. I wanted a pet monkey too.

As a teenager I did have 2 pet racoons named Cat and Dog.

my wife had some toy poodles and when they had puppies i named them all..."for sale"

Hmmm Pet's can be cool. Had a few and have a trio of keets now. The older you get the less you want to clean up their boo boos from the floor or stuff you don't want to part with.

I loved my Smokey..after my mom's friend killed him..theres no "replacing" something you love so much..It's not like he was a man..those are much more easily replaceable than my Smokey was..I'm sorry I just had to say that.

We aren't really sure HOW he did it..Smokey was sick one day..but it didn't seem like it was "fatal" sick..so he took him to the vet..but didn't come back with him..said the vet said he needed to be put down..which pissed me off seeing as how Smokey was MY dog..it was MY decision to make as to if I wanted that or not..BUT before that even happened..we had seen that he was jealous of the dog..can you imagine someone being jealous of a dog?..enough to KILL him?

When my parents put their Smokey to sleep, I went with them for support. It is a sad, difficult thing to do and I wanted to say good-bye too. Is there any possibility that your mother's friend was trying to spare you from that?
