Did you know any of this - I did not!!!!

And sadly enough its not shocking that our wonderful media fails to get
this kind of POSITVE information to us.

I thought I'd pass this along.

Do you know this?? - I didn't know! How could we?

Did you know that 47 countries' have reestablished their embassies in
Iraq?

Did you know that the Iraqi government currently employs 1.2 million
Iraqi people?

Did you know that 3100 schools have been renovated, 364 schools are
under rehabilitation, 263 schools are now under construction and 38 new
schools have been built in Iraq ?

Did you know that Iraq's higher educational structure consists of 20
Universities, 46 Institutes or colleges and 4 research centers, all
currently operating?

Did you know that 25 Iraq students departed for the United States in
January

2005 for the reestablished Fulbright program?

Did you know that the Iraqi Navy is operational? They have 5-100-foot
patrol craft, 34 smaller vessels and a naval infantry regiment.

Did you know that Iraq's Air Force consists of three operational
squadrons, which includes 9 reconnaissance and 3 US C-130 transport
aircraft (under Iraqi operational control) which operate day and night,
and will soon add 16 UH-1 helicopters and 4 Bell Jet Rangers?

Did you know that Iraq has a counter-terrorist unit and a Commando
Battalion?

Did you know that the Iraqi Police Service has over 55,000 fully trained
and equipped police officers?

Did you know that there are 5 Police Academies in Iraq that produce over
3500 new officers each 8 weeks?

Did you know there are more than 1100 building projects going on in
Iraq? They include 364 schools, 67 public clinics, 15 hospitals, 83
railroad stations, 22 oil facilities, 93 water facilities and 69
electrical facilities.

Did you know that 96% of Iraqi children under the age of 5 have received
the first 2 series of polio vaccinations?

Did you know that 4.3 million Iraqi children were enrolled in primary
school by mid October?

Did you know that there are 1,192,000 cell phone subscribers in Iraq and
phone use has gone up 158%?

Did you know that Iraq has an independent media that consists of 75
radio stations, 180 newspapers and 10 television stations?

Did you know that the Baghdad Stock Exchange opened in June of 2004?

Did you know that 2 candidates in the Iraqi presidential election had a
televised debate recently?

OF COURSE WE DIDN'T KNOW!
WHY DIDN'T WE KNOW?
OUR MEDIA WOULDN'T TELL US!

Instead of reflecting our love for our country, we get photos of flag
burning incidents at Abu Ghraib and people throwing snowballs at the
presidential motorcades.

Tragically, the lack of accentuating the positive in Iraq serves two
purposes:

It is intended to undermine the world's perception of the United States
thus minimizing consequent support, and it is intended to discourage
American citizens.

Above facts are verifiable on the Department of Defense web site. Pass
it on! Give it a Wide Dissemination!

yeah but the sad part is they need 3500 new police officers each week
because they get killed all the time

My friend Kojack

That is no surprise really. The Media is all about tarring us down as a
society.
Think about it.

Who want's to hear about a boy scout helping an old lady across the
street.

Hell no!

We want to hear that the Boy Scout Raped the Old Lady. That's what we
want to hear.

So it doesn't take a brain scientist to figure out that we want to hear
only bad news from Iraq.

I don't for one.

But of course the majority of us animals like to hear death and
destruction to the world as a whole. So don't look for for answers in
the media. Use your own intelligence to figure out that what you hear in
the news is garbage.

Thanks for the info Kojack, I am sure someone will come by and tell us
what you posted is BS or that the police officers that were killed, died
for no reason, however rest assured there will always be people Like
that. There are many others on this site that use thier heads and post
responsibly with information that can be supported by facts.

Me I enjoy how many people post what they find and let the masses make
thier own decision based on information given.

Thank again

LOL I wish I could find a particular article I read a while ago. It had
to do with the amount of monies spent each year on military and the
government. It made a comparison on how much money was actually spent by
the military in a War/action compared to Not being in a War/action. It
showed that the revenue produced by the action in taxes paid for the
action.

It also showed how much in comparison how much is spent in the
government for Politicians earnings. More was spent on the politicians
for thier income than on the military. Are the people aware on this site
that after a term or two depending on the state, said politician is
entitled to a retirement of more than $10,000 a month for the rest of
his/her life. Paid from our taxes, to top it off they never pay taxes on
any of it. That is left up to those who work for a living.

Quite complaining about how much is spent on the military, learn the
facts and then make an informed decision.

yes i agree that gov. employess make good money and have many perks!..

& and rebuild these countries better than they have ever had it!... dont

win able so called war!... wtf!

Just curious, is there such a thing as a war that can be won? I surely
don't think so. Nobody as far as I know ever said we are rebuilding the
world. Have you ever helped someone in need? I do all the time, at work.
On these forums and to those who ask for it. Most of the time nobody
ever thanks you for helping. Most of the time it can be done without
thier knowledge of it even going on. Why do I help? Simply put it is in
my nature. You may not like the answer but it is the truth. Ask some of
those who you call friends and ask them on this site.

Would you rather bury your head into the sand and wait for another
terrorist to blow up the pentagon? How about the Statue of Liberty?
Osama bin Laden is only a symbol of terrorism, he has gone into hiding,
just like The last Dictator who was captured and HUNG for his crimes.

As for being every place in the World? You think our president has
control of that? Think again, The president is the commander in chief,
he Commands the most powerful Force of military at this time. He is not
the one who deployed the Majority of our forces in Europe or Africa, or
any other continent in this world.
These deployments were done long before Bus.h was voted President. These
deployments were enacted by the politicians in the government not by the
president, he is the final signiture of these placements. If you don't
like the deployments, try getting to the root of the facts. The
politicians put them there not the President.

These are the facts of how our democracy runs. Wearing blinders and
spouting without stating the facts does nobody any good.
Yes stick to the facts. It seems to me the media along with many others
seem to compare seperate actions that have nothing in common to each
other. Saying the same thing is going to happen.

As far as I know The USA along with many others are TRYING to help
others gain THIER own independence. The USA is doing it for the oil?
LMAO The USA has enough Oil in the Alaskan oil fields to support itself
for over 100yrs. This is a fact that has been proven more than once.
Those fields are estmated to be far larger than the middle east fields.

Get a grip, there have been countries under the mantle of a dictator for
longer than Iraq, whose leaders have mudered far more of their own
civilians then Saddam ever did in his most depraved dreams. Why hasn't
the US sent it troops to THOSE countries to die for THEIR freedom and
independence?
Cuz they have nothing of material value to the US.
Why didn't the US send a full army into Nicaragua to kick some behind
instead of ****ing around with CIA operatives and "consultants". Cuz
Nicaragua has nothing the US wants.

And if those Alaskan oil fields are bigger than the Mid-East fields, I
sure as hell hope there's MORE than just 100 yrs worth of oil for the US
there. Not sure where you got that "fact" considering the mid-east oil
fields have been supplying most of the globe for the last 100 years and
it don't look like they're drying up any time soon.

The reason we do not drill our own oil is the sick twisted liberal left
has tied everything up in the court systems.

welcome to my world 4 fun lol...been paying $3.20-3.60/ gallon average
for the last year..at one point it hit $4.20/gallon and WE have even
MORE oil than the Alaskan oil fields OR Saudi Arabia

Public the US wants to use all the rest of the oil in the world before
we use our own supplies, think about the war machines and the gasoline
consumption that the require. If the us can have a monopoly on oil at
some point in the future, until is a change in the engines that run
tanks, helicopters, and all other aircraft and even the missile systems
we will have the best functioning military hands down. No really I don't
know this but we definately need to keep as much as possible in our
grasp to handle any load we put on it.

Excellent post Kojack.Very informational. It gets very tiring after
awhile consuming all this B.S.that the media gives us to swallow. But it
has always been that way Kojack, and I don't expect it to change anytime
soon.Yes I am sympathetic to what is happening in Iraq right now,but my
overall opinion is not about to be swayed another direction.I think our
beloved nation better start showing more concern for it's own people and
immediately address some of the critical issues we are faced with. There
is a long list I might add and they are contributing to the decay of our
very fabric that binds our country. When we address and correct these
issues that are plaguing us,which is first priority then we can play
Saviour to other nations.Spending trillions on space exploration, law
enforcement, and political agendas. The waste of tax dollars is
horrendous.Christ we can't even control or police our borders
adequately.Crime,Homelessness,Drugs,Decreased Employment,Taxes,Price
Gouging ,etc. That's only mentioning some our critical issues.I sense a
severe loss of direction and priorities here,or is it just my
imagination.Hmmm!Meanwhile the media & newspapers desensitize the crap
out of the mass public.Tell me where is our morality, and compassion for
our own people within our beloved country.I think our forefather's would
be deeply ashamed and gravely concerned of our nation's current plight.
