I have seen suffering
I have felt it too
I go through tough times
just like you

I am just as human
as everyone else
but when I feel your pain
I deny myself

I have reached out
to those that hurt
because I wanted to show them
they're life has worth

Some have listened
some have accepted
and by other's
I have been rejected

When it comes to me
I will not pretend
for there is'nt one out there
to help my heart mend

I have accepted the fact
that I will be alone
so now around my heart
I build walls of stone

The pain and the hurt
I won't allow myself to feel
I will become like
a man made of steel

I will retreat to my fortress
that I have made for myself
I will stay there alone
without anyone else

I will not hurt anymore
there will be no more pain
I will not allow my heart
to be torn up again
