He Knows Your Alone 1980

Tom Hank's first movie

Westworld 1973

The first use of computer digitized images as part of a feature film (not merely monitor graphics) was the Gunslinger's point of view in Westworld. After the process was finally developed enough to produce satisfactory results, it took a mere eight hours to produce each ten seconds of Gunslinger's pixellated POV.

The Great Race 1965

Features the largest pie fight ever staged.

The Ladies Man 1961

During this production Jerry Lewis attached a small video camera to the side of his 35mm camera, in effect, pioneering the "video assist" system that is standard on just about every feature film today.

The Burning 1981

Jason Alexander, Holly Hunter, and Fisher Stevens' first movie

This is also the first film for The Weinstein Bros.

Evil Dead II 1987

The sexy, surly Bobby Joe was inspired by Holly Hunter, who was a housemate of Sam Raimi's in the early 80s, along with Joel Coen and Frances McDormand. One particular incident inspired the character: Hunter was auditioning for a hooker part and was unusually made-up and wearing a sexy, short-skirted outfit. She became angry at Raimi when he somewhat leered at her. Raimi pulled for Hunter to play the part, but the producers wanted someone "sexier".

Soylent Green 1973

The videogame in Simonson's apartment, "Computer Space", was one of the first coin-operated videogames, manufactured by Nutting Associates in 1971 and designed by Nolan Bushnell, who later founded Atari and designed "Pong". The videogame was painted white for the movie but the original color was either yellow, red or blue.

Flesh Feast 1970

Veronica Lake's final film.

This made me laugh- "Jim Lovell, whom Hanks played in Apollo 13 (1995), is actually left-handed, but Hanks refused to write with his left hand for the movie."

Has no problem gaining 50 pounds, or losing 30 pounds for movie roles...but I'll be damned if he's going to write with his opposite hand.

Silent Night Deadly Night 1984 and Silent Night, Deadly Night 5: The Toy Maker 1991

Mickey Rooney wrote a letter of protest against the first Silent Night, Deadly Night stating that the "scum" who made it should be "run out of town" for having sullied the sacredness of Christmas. And yet he co-starred in the fifth installment in the gory horror series.

sanrda bullock was in a plane crash and a head on collision in a car.

On December 20, 2000, Bullock survived the crash of a chartered business jet at Jackson Hole Airport. The aircraft hit a snowbank instead of the runway, resulting in both the nose gear and nose cone being ripped off, the right wing partially separating from the aircraft, and the left wing being bent back.

On April 18, 2008, while Bullock was in Massachusetts shooting the film The Proposal, she and her husband were in an SUV that was hit head-on (driver's side offset) at moderate speed by a drunken driver. Vehicle damage was not major and there were no injuries.

Kurt Russell and Elvis

Kurt Russell appeared in the Elvis movie "It Happened At The World's Fair" (1963), he portrayed Presley in the TV movie "Elvis" (1979), and he played an Elvis impersonator in "3000 Miles to Graceland" (2001). In "It Happened at the World's Fair," Russell (who was a young boy at the time), ran on screen and kicked Elvis in the shin. In "3000 Miles to Graceland," this scene is parodied when a young boy runs on screen and kicks Russell (in full Elvis attire) in the shin.

Recalling his scene with the legendary Elvis years later, Kurt Russell says that although the scene called for Russell to kick Elvis Presley in the shin, Russell didn't want to do it. He says that finally Elvis paid him $5 to do it and he did.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

In the scene where Leatherface is chasing the girl through the woods with his chainsaw roaring there are no special effects used. The chainsaw was really on and the girl was terrified because the guy playing Leatherface couldn't see how close he was getting to her with the chainsaw because of his mask.

Gunnar Hansen(Leatherface) said she was such a slow runner that he would constantly have to slow up- which is why in the movie you see him stopping and cutting at branches(he was letting her get ahead of him)

Wes Craven and Sam Raimi

When Raimi saw Craven's Hills Have Eyes, he thought the torn JAWS poster(hanging in the main family's trailer) was a statement Craven was making statement about Hills being scarier than JAWS. So in Evil Dead Raimi put a torn poster of The Hills Have Eyes down in the basement. So in A Nightmare On Elm Street, Craven has Nancy watching The Evil Dead, then in Evil Dead II Raimi puts Freddy's glove in a couple of scenes in the background.

In 1984's Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes British production Jane was played by Andie Macdowell but all of her dialogue was voiced over by Glenn Close in post production since the producers found her accent unsuitable for her character.
