** Scooped a baby off a two lane hwy.





* A one year old (+-) had left, the house faced the highway. The child was in the middle of the highway. Auto reaction kicked-in, a small skid and I blocked the road. Grabbed the baby and walked to the house, about 100 paces. When I called into the house the mom came and totally lost control of herself, collapsing while holding the baby. (All was good.)
* The hwy. was a bit jammed around me, and I drove-off.
** Jeez, that was an old memory... 20 plus years ago.




* everybody does stuff, most just forget.

This remind me of something my mum told me few months back.
During World War 2, Japanese attacked Singapore in 1941. My mum was about 3 years old.
There were sirens and bombings everywhere. So when a siren was sounded, every one in the villages will go to the mosques, churches and temples to hide.
On that fateful day, the siren sounded. My grandparent had 12 kids. On the way , to the mosque, my mum fell in a big dry drain. Both my grandparent did not realized that. My mum said she remembered , nobody saw her as everyone was rushing for safety.
She remembered still hearing the siren. She cried and cried.
A Malay soldier saw her and brought her to the Mosque.
Many years later, my grandfather told her, the bomb fell exactly at the drain she was.
Till now, my mum said, if not for the kind soldier, she would had been dead.
She tried to find out who is that soldier. But never find out.
Our prayers always for the soldiers who fight and died to defend the country. May they rest in peace.
