So why does Windows in any flavor give me such a headache???

frustrated frustrated frustrated

I have been handed two gateway laptops with Windows Vista and one I THOUGHT I fixed until I loaded updates and another that still has the wrap on it and it does not work right.

Is Microsoft trying to reinvent darkness?

naw, gateways suck! rofl

some people say that the Myans predicted the "end of the world" in December, 2012.

Although I think this is more accurate:

i only require one thing;
make me happy.
(:

And how does a person make you happy, Bianca . . . besides giving you pickles.

i honestly do not know.
>.<

THEY don't... personal happieness is an individual responsibility (i.e. you are responsible for your own happiness, and only YOU can "make" YOU happy) - if you look outside of yourself for happiness (in others, or things) - you are never going to be truly happy...

I am an american, my grandparents were all immigrants from Ireland and Italy, and come to this country to provide a better life for themselves, their families... and to achieve their dreams...

WHY? – What did they think was here that was better than anywhere else? How did the idea that America was the place to go? What VALUES drew them here?

Americans do not share one value, or system of values - more so they share in the belief that the framwork established by the founders of our country are worth preserving, pursuing - and if need be defending.

If that framework did not represent VALUES, what did it represent?

It's a belief in the structure of the country - established by the constitution and refined by the bill of rights - that we are free to pursue our own values within...

Is that structure something ALL American citizens should believe in? Why, what’s so great about it?

"all men are created equal" is not a VALUE, it's an "UN-ALIENALBE RIGHT"...

What human characteristics do YOU think give an individual value?

I think you post is good, and thought provoking - the only point that I make is that the constituation and the bill of rights are the framework, the base rules, the guidance or boundaries for a country.... the values you have are a construct within that framework...

the laws are more value based, but not the constituation or the bill of rights...

I dont think americans truly all share any one value

at best, I think we share ideals such as being created equal, but the ideal falls apart when it meets 'group' mentality

it will be interesting to see the answers of others, but I truly cant think of one value we all share that relates to the constitution

I agree...

minimum wage paid = minimal effort from employee. employee's should not be assured a specific wage, their wage should be based on what they produce.

It's pretty simple, this is capitalism, not socialism - you get what you earn.

it takes the extremes of arguments to help ensrue the pendulum slows toward the middle...

Frankly, I think extremist views are dangerous on both sides, but they seem to help policy be established more toward the reasonable center...

while it is true that people are responsable for their own actions and glen beck, however crazy and misguided he maybe, has a right to his opinion fox as a legitimate news station(so called)should at least get their facts straight. although blatenetly labeling someone a racist could be considered slander

And I and others have the right to point out that POX is not a legitimate news outlet and Glenn Beck is a arsehole uring people to take up arms against our government and orgs that promote Civil Rights...creating insurgents.

The more people know this then the more likely advertisers will pull their ads from POX and eventually reduce them to AM radio where they belong...static mono...as in "Not interested in facts"...just hate noise.

Interestingly enough, Gleen Beck is a major proponent of the freedom of speech to which you refer above...

ME? I don't support Glenn Beck, an alcholoic self taugh opportunist... but, I also don't think he advocates gun violence....

You judge his rhetoric as "wierd" - that is your opinion, which you are free to express due to the efforts (in part) of people just like Glenn Beck!

I have been thinking a lot about this. I know I have a couple of times, and if I have offended anyone I am truly sorry.

I think we should all use proper names when talking about persons or businesses or organizations.

I have been giving a lot of thought to this and it really disrespects the people you are talking to. I am referring to things like Oblowme, Obummer, Obama Bin Laden, Pox News, Dippic, Chimpy, Tea Baggers, Tea Bagging etc. I think you get the picture.

You automatically lose the debate or discussion when you make comments like that and frankly sound like a third grader. I know I am guilty as well and have used the Obama Bin Laden one a couple times.

A lot of those comments are meant to degrade and insult and hurt members and it's just not right. We can disagree and do it civilly.

Again I am sorry to anyone I might have offended especially Dragoness, MSharmony, Kerry O, Atlantis and others.

For the good of the community lets all try to treat each other with more respect.

well said, I agree. A certain level of civility should be maintained... no matter what your beliefs...

don't blame fox news, blame the individual - the individual is responsible for his/her own actions.

It's really pretty simple. How many people heard the same broadcast, and how many of them chose to grab a gun? *sigh*...

So Glenn Beck is not responsible nor held responsible for his urging on the nut cases in this country to attack Civil Rights orgs? I bet most people that reply here do not watch the video at the link I provided...

Maybe Charlie Manson can get out of prison and have his own show on POX...since they have similiar agendas.

Now, you are beginnig to show the signs of understanding personal responsibility. I am impressed with you!

As for Charlie Manson... he was given "his own show", at least an interview. Manson wrote a book, "Manson, In His Own Words" - NBC interviewed him in 2006 on the Today show...

I did not see people running out commiting mass murder...

Your emails mean nothing. You have a fantasy about who you want her to be and it likely has nothing to do with who she really is.

First meet her face to face. Next, date her a couple of times. After that, have sex a few times. Then see how you feel about her.

If you say you love her too soon, you'll give her the creeps and scare her off.

We have actually talked about everything so it's not like we're not communicating about things. In fact we agreed to make her feel better that....if things go so far, that she would be the one to say she loved me first, and I could take my cue from her as to when she was ready for the next step.

I would also add we've had many at length discussions about a lot of things, so I have some idea of who she is.

I'm more curious about others experiences really.

I used to say it quickly, within a month or so. But, I was young and stupid then, probably a lot like you are now. These days I have a lot more experance with women and relationships (over 100 sexual relationships) and I have found the longer I wait, the better.

I'm almost 50, have bad teeth, work a very low paying job and my current girlfriend is 5'9" 150 lbs. and only 20 years old.

Why the hell is she with me?

Because, my friend, I know what I'm doing when it comes to women.

have if I had still been with the other one.
