Is DOS based off Linux? good question... No, it was not. There is some inuendo about DOS being a derivitive of unix, I think because Microsoft at the time developed and sold Xenix (on of the most used Unix variants at the time)... Seattle Computer Products created "Q-DOS" - microsoft eventually bought them (SCP), which ended up as what we all know as MS-DOS, Microsoft developed MS-DOS (in conjuntion with IBM) to be used in the IBM PC. DOS is actually more like "CP/M" (most familiar in the Commodore Vic-20, 64 and Amiga) - another 8-bit computuer operating system.... and was written so that CP/M software could be more easily ported to MS-DOS... Oy Vey!... clear as mud! LOL... $.02

the Apple OS is actually based on the Linux OS as well. It's based on BSD, actually. It is compatible with the Single UNIX Specification version 3 (SUSv3) and POSIX UNIX applications and utilities" Me personally? I use MAC, specifically iMac, MacBook, and iPad... I used to have an iMac and a PC - but after the PC sitting in a room all by itself collecting dust - I made the shift totally to MAC (OS X)... Although I must say, I don't play PC based computer games - which is the big thing that allowed my transition totally to MAC. If I were an avid PC gamer, I would still have both. :) $.02 |

Nobody seems to have an answer for this. I really want to know. It's about public bathrooms. Why would somebody wipe their rear end with toilet paper, then throw the ****-covered toilet paper on the floor instead of flushing it down the toilet? Part of my little Park host job is to keep the johns stocked, and I see a lot of this. maybe someone does not like you, and is trying to tell you something? DOH! $.02

Why do guys do this? They pursue then make a date email back and forth to set a day, time and place....then they don't show-up....WTF Is it just me or are others perplexed by this phenomenon? Perhaps, after thinking about the meeting, he didn't want to meet you. Maybe he was trying to make a date with several women, and one he preferred more said yes, but only after he made the date with you... so he stood you up to be with her... maybe he's a wimp, and left to meet you but could not show up. Maybe he was lying to you about who he was and/or what he looked like and did not want to face the music... who knows, only he knows - but you are likely not going to get an answer from him. You are trying to get a logical answer to an emotional thing... forget about it and move along... nothing to see here... p.s. I am sure women do this too.... *sigh* $.02

I guess it kinda depends if the issue is more important than your relationship. In my opinion, good relationships depend upon communication, honesty, commitment and compromise...
All agruments should be constructive (healthy), and handled in a way where both partners feel acknowledged and understood. You are not going to agree on everything. Only you can decide this for yourself, if you compromise who you are, it's just as bad as blowing an issue out of proportion and destroying a relationship just to be "the winner"... well heres a little of the situation. I started dating a 25yo who ill call beng. Nice guy but very young and i knew it was something that wouldnt go far at all. Guess thats why i started dating him coz i know its gonna go no where n i can kinda control it so i dont get hurt. Enter a 31yo who ill call lovecraft who i have known for a long time who wants to be with me n has always wanted too. I was open n honest with lovecraft n told him that i was with beng but lovecraft told me he dont care, he has waited too long n that he wants to be with me regardless. After months of thinking i have decided that my heart is with lovecraft n not beng. Now how do i say that to beng.........sorry i dont want to be with u because my heart is elsewhere???? sorry beng i dont think we would work out coz i dont see a future there n ur very young n immature i have 2 kids of my own i dont want another????? I want to be truthfull but i dont want to fully devastate the guy either. you sound needy and co-dependent. Break it off with both of them, be alone for a while and learn who you are and what you want. Seems you only go for guys that want you - and that is sad. Work on your self esteem issues you might be a happier person. $.02

What some people forget, just before they castigate someone, is that a person is entitled, in America, to be tried before a jury of their 'peers.' So, until we have walked a mile in his shoes, or become a peer of his, we have no right to criticize. He is unique in many ways. He is the linchpin of an empire. I would imagine the pressure is intense. What he does off the job is his own business. I adore his show, which is centered around his self-centeredness, probably why it is such a hit :-) But he's making it everyone's business going on every other talk show acting like a nut. Key word, "acting"... I don't know him personally, do you?... *sigh* $.02
