Forgive me for the angst I feel
at this latest family decree.
I can handle being misunderstood,
but this extends far beyond me.

Due to my past “unacceptable choices“,
your subtleties have very loud voices.

If you wonder at my solitude,
This would be the reason why.
I thought only one family member
