I've had my eyes
I've had my ears
To steal from you
For so long
For a sake to fill
A hole that kills
You've made me thrill

I've been wandering
So long
So long, so long

Now I burn
And when i yearn
Everywhile without you
Is too long
Now i'm free
You made me see
It had to be so long

Because I'm gonna love you
So long
So long,So long :heart:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If I could
Give anything I could
If my thoughts could do you good
If I could help you with
This part of life you've got to live
You could load your weight on me
If I meant to you
What you mean to me
Your fight would also me
The greatest thing
You could do for me
If I knew
When your pain be shining through
I could be watching over you
If I'd been close
I could reach the things to use
And know just what to do
One thing I will do
To never let you go
Never let you go
Never let you go :heart:
I see you in her bed,
Dark, rootless epicene,
Where a lone ghost is laid
And other ghosts convene;
And hear you moan at last
Your pleasure in the deep
Haven of her who kissed
Your blind mouth into sleep.
But body, once enthralled,
Wakes in the chains it wore,
Dishevelled, stupid, cold,
And famished as before,
And hears its paragon
Breathe in the ghostly air,
Anonymous carrion
Ravished by despair.
Lovemaker, I have felt
Desire take my part,
But lacked your constant fault
And something of your art,
And would not bend my knees
To the unmantled pride
That left you in that place,
Forever unsatisfied.
When you were as an angel in my arms,
Had laid your bare head just below my chin,
Your length pressed up to mine, entrusting charms
My whole youth's starward longing could not win;
With still the murmur of your love in me,
Miracle-tones of all my lifelong hope,
I wished that there might start eternity
And seal forever that sweet envelope;
And as it did, my thoughts are now for you
As every star is blotted by the sun,
And so the sun itself
Has perished too,
And with it, every dream of mine
But one.
After defeat, in grief's most hopeless hours,
With no resort remaining but the void,
The vanquished yet may turn to hidden powers,
Begging protection for a heart destroyed.
As crown or cross perhaps recalls some scene,
Bead by sad bead they may beseech the air,
As though in precincts silent and unseen
Lost angels could be helped by human prayer.
Each may, as if some hearing had begun
In secret parts where all the dead yet live,
Cry out to walls the innocence of one
Whom now no other aid is left to give.
And whether justice anywhere may reign,
None here can prove their witness was in vain.
In the first canto of the final canticle,
Too conscious of too many things at once,
Our man beheld the naked, nameless dame,
Seized her and wondered: why beneath the tree
She held her hand before him in the air,
For him to see, wove round her glittering hair.
Too conscious of too many things at once,
In the first canto of the final canticle,
Her hand composed him and composed the tree.
The wind had seized the tree and ha, and ha,
It held the shivering, the shaken limbs,
Then bathed its body in the leaping lake.
Her hand composed him like a hand appeared,
Of an impersonal gesture, a stranger's hand.
He was too conscious of too many things
In the first canto of the final canticle.
Her hand took his and drew it near to her.
Her hand fell on him and the mi-bird flew
To the ruddier bushes at the garden's end.
Of her, of her alone, at last he knew
And lay beside her underneath the tree.
As I walked out one morning
All in the month of May
Down by a flowery garden
I carelessly did stray
I overheard a young maid
In sorrow did complain
All for her absent lover
Who ploughs the raging main.
I boldly stepped up to her
And put her in surprise
I know she did not know me
I being in disguise.
I says, "Me charming creature
My joy, my heart's delight,
How far have you to travel
This dark and dreary night?"
"I'm in search of a faithless young man
Johnny is his name
And along the banks of Claudy
I'm told he does remain."
"This is the banks of Claudy,
Fair maid, where you stand
But don't depend on Johnny
For he's a false young man.
"Oh, don't depend on Johnny
For he'll not meet you here
But tarry with me in yon green woods
No danger need you fear.
"Oh, it's six long weeks or better
Since Johnny left the shore
He's crossing the wild ocean
Where the foam and the billows roar.
"He's crossing the wild ocean
For honour and for fame
But this I've heard, the ship was wrecked
All on the coast of Spain ."
Oh it's when she heard this dreadful news
She flew into despair
By the wringing of her milk-white hands
And the tearing of her hair.
Saying, "If Johnny he is drowned
No man on earth I'll take
But through lonesome groves and valleys
I'll wander for his sake."
Oh it's when he saw her loyalty
No longer could he stand
He flew into her arms saying,
"Betsy, I'm the man."
Saying, "Betsy, I'm the young man
The cause of all your pain
But since we've met on Claudy banks
We'll never part again."
By the sad waters of separation
Where we have wandered by divers ways,
I have but the shadow and imitation
Of the old memorial days.
In music I have no consolation,
No roses are pale enough for me;
The sound of the waters of separation
Surpasseth roses and melody.
By the sad waters of separation
Dimly I hear from an hidden place
The sigh of mine ancient adoration:
Hardly can I remember your face.
If you be dead, no proclamation
Sprang to me over the waste, gray sea:
Living, the waters of separation
Sever for ever your soul from me.
No man knoweth our desolation;
Memory pales of the old delight;
While the sad waters of separation
Bear us on to the ultimate night.
Let us go hence: the night is now at hand;
The day is overworn, the birds all flown;
And we have reaped the crops the gods have sown;
Despair and death; deep darkness o'er the land,
Broods like an owl; we cannot understand
Laughter or tears, for we have only known
Surpassing vanity: vain things alone
Have driven our perverse and aimless band.
Let us go hence, some whither strange and cold,
To Hollow Lands where just men and unjust
Find end of labour, where's rest for the old,
Freedom to all from love and fear and lust.
Twine our torn hands! O pray the earth enfold
Our life-sick hearts and turn them into dust.
Take this Sea, whose diapason knells
On scrolls of silver snowy sentences,
The sceptred terror of whose sessions rends
As her demeanors motion well or ill,
All but the pieties of lovers’ hands.
And yet this great wink of eternity,
Of rimless floods, unfettered leewardings,
Samite sheeted and processioned where
Her undinal vast belly moonward bends,
Laughing the wrapt inflections of our love.
Oh my luve is like a red, red rose,
That's newly sprung in June:
Oh my luve is like the melodie,
That's sweetly play'd in tune.
As fair art thou, my bonie lass,
So deep in luve am I;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a' the seas gang dry.
Till a' the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi' the sun;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
While the sands o' life shall run.
And fare thee weel, my only luve!
And fare thee weel a while!
And I will come again, my luve,
Tho' it were ten thousand mile!
It is a beauteous evening, calm and free,
The holy time is quiet as a Nun
Breathless with adoration; the broad sun
Is sinking down in its tranquillity;
The gentleness of heaven broods o'er the Sea:
Listen! the mighty Being is awake,
And doth with his eternal motion make
A sound like thunder—everlastingly.
Dear Child! dear Girl! that walkest with me here,
If thou appear untouched by solemn thought,
Thy nature is not therefore less divine:
Thou liest in Abraham's bosom all the year;
And worship'st at the Temple's inner shrine,
God being with thee when we know it not.
Buried in teeth
Buried in teeth
Buried in teeth
Can't tell if I've got black roots or braids
Growing out of my head
Grandfather's eating our grains
Buried in teeth
Buried in teeth
Buried in teeth
Can't tell if I've got rivers or veins
Running under my skin
Flowing out over the plains
There's trapped antennae
All tangled up with these brains
And the spin of cocoons whispers your names
While the crash of molars it sifts us downward
Down past the roll of ancient thunder
Down past the delicate bones of birds wings
Those that never took the flight of morning
Down past the fossil ferns and antlers
A pack of ghost wolves are going to bring you under
Down past the stomach's filled with berries
Swallowed down into the gut of centuries
Where we'll petrify
Strong willed, feeble, amber eyed
There we'll petrify
Strong lunged, weary, amber eyed
Strong winged, teary, amber eyed
Amber eyed
Buried in arms
Buried in arms
Buried in arms
Can't tell if it's your elbows or twine
All wrapped 'round my waist
A tangled mess divine
Buried in arms
Buried in arms
Buried in arms
Can't tell whose triggers are whose
So we'll pull every one
Firing diamonds at boots
The crash of molars it sifts us downward
Down past the roll of ancient thunder
Down past the delicate bones of bird's wings
Those that never took the flight of morning
Down past the fossil ferns and antlers
A pack of ghost wolves are going to bring you under
Down past the stomachs filled with berries
Swallowed down into the gut of centuries
Where we'll petrify
Strong willed, feeble, amber eyed
There we'll petrify
Strong lunged, weary, amber eyed
Strong winged, teary, amber eyed
Amber eyed
Buried in arms
Buried in teeth
Buried in teeth
Buried in arms
Buried in teeth
Can't tell if those are black holes I spy
Staring down at us
Sucking starlight through our eyes
Buried in arms
Buried in teeth
Buried in teeth
Buried in arms
Buried in arms
Buried in teeth
Buried in teeth
Buried in arms
Buried in teeth
Can't tell if we'll being eaten alive
I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed;
And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.
I leant upon a coppice gate
When Frost was spectre-gray,
And Winter's dregs made desolate
The weakening eye of day.
The tangled bine-stems scored the sky
Like strings of broken lyres,
And all mankind that haunted nigh
Had sought their household fires.
The land's sharp features seemed to be
The Century's corpse outleant,
His crypt the cloudy canopy,
The wind his death-lament.
The ancient pulse of germ and birth
Was shrunken hard and dry,
And every spirit upon earth
Seemed fervourless as I.
At once a voice arose among
The bleak twigs overhead
In a full-hearted evensong
Of joy illimited;
An aged thrush, frail, gaunt, and small,
In blast-beruffled plume,
Had chosen thus to fling his soul
Upon the growing gloom.
So little cause for carolings
Of such ecstatic sound
Was written on terrestrial things
Afar or nigh around,
That I could think there trembled through
His happy good-night air
Some blessed Hope, whereof he knew
And I was unaware.
