no catch, barrel price dropped and future markets probably over bought when the stock market first started having trouble. This is a guess b/c I haven't looked that the oil future markets lately.

Gas is not cheap until it drops below $1.00 again.

It would actually be in foreign powers interest to keep the prices up higher to put more pressure on our oil companies that have their hands in the republican party.

Wanna know why gas is so cheap???

1) The extreme price hikes that we saw were mainly due to speculation that China would need a whole lot more than it turned out they are currently using.

2) OPEC upped production so there is more oil available

3) Prices are down, in part, because the big oil companies saw America getting somewhat serious about coming up with alternative energy sources. If you pay attention, you will be able to observe the slow decline of the amount of folks screaming for other energy sources. Now that gas is going back down, Americans can get comfy with driving their nice big SUVs again.

The reason gas is even as expensive or cheap is it has to do with government taxes, government regulation, government mandates on fuel mixtures, and government restricting exploration and expanding of refining capacity. Look no further than your own government if you don't or do like the prices of gas.
