Hello Men & Women,


First, I am new to this site, well a few months into it and new to the single world. I have a few questions I would like to ask and I would like peoples input if they feel like answering. Here are some of the questions. Why do people join these sites if they do not want to meet someone? Not per say go on a date. Why cannot two people get together for a cup of coffee or a drink as casual acquaintances? This way there is no pressure for anyone. I am not saying run out and meet just anyone though is this not why we are on this site. I am sure some for a lot of different reason. What if someone just wants to make new friends, find a person they have things in common with and who knows find the love of their life.LOL? How are we every supposed to re enter the single life, if we never get out? Not everyone we shall meet in our life will be the one however, who is to say, we could not have meet someone interesting. Is life that scary? Just a few questions I have had. Anyone’s input would be appreciated.

If you want someone to just DO things with, there's an option for "activity partner". I don't know with whom you've been engaging conversations, but if you want to just go meet for coffee and make friends from here, there should not be a problem unless people are trying to hook you into more. Just like with dating in general, you will go through many a dud spud sometimes before you find the right COFFEE MATE!!! I made a little funny!!!
And there are some who just want online comraderie. Nothing wrong with that, either.

wondered that myself sometimes, but there are alot of people on these sites and attention is at a premium. Interests seem to change at a very rapid pace.And some are here just for social friendship.
The best way to meet people here is to get into the forums and participate. Have fun and get to know some folks.

some people are not who they say they are on their profile, so say you read someone's profile and you happen to find it a little interesting, you talk to the person, then when it comes to meet, they back out! IMO

The answer to that is yes. Do you have to talk to someone for months just to meet and have a simple converstion?

Depends on the other person's comfort level I guess. Personally, I don't recommend meeting right away, but that's just me. But surely others might feel differently. When you asked them out, did they say no? Or not right now?
