I had 11 two year olds and toddlers today, because the two year old teacher called in. Then my Boss comes to my room and tries to stick 6 more on me. They are not supposed to mix toddlers and two year olds to begin with. I am supposed to have a limit of 9 children for the age group I have. They wanted to give me 17. I had to repent today and I'm ashamed of myself. I lost it! "I told her there is no way in hell I am taking 6 more kids when I am already out of ratio." I would lose my sanity. She brought them to my room and I told her if you leave them I quit. So she took them somewhere else. NONE OF THE OTHER CLASSES WERE OUT OF RATIO. She could of split them up between the classes.....which she did when I went off. I will not be taken advantage of....just wish I would of handled it better. |

Great job defending yourself. People take advantage of people every day. especially bosses. They think because the economy sucks, they can push you around... No sir/mam! Keep up the good work. There's laws about student-teacher ratio in that age group. You also were protecting yourself, IMO. If it was more then could be handled, something could of happened. |

Ill be praying about it.. Remember as far as the church goes.. Just because your parked in the garage does not make you a car...  I will not be taken advantage of....just wish I would of handled it better. |

Good for you. As an educator there have been times when the powers that be have to be reminded of the law. A couple of years ago we had a teacher that had 7 Special Ed students in his class. He pointed out that he was not to have more than 4 in a class. His class roster was quickly changed.
We have been told that next year we may have classes of 35 or more. I pointed out to the Superintendent that such a class size might violate fire code for our building. |

I used to go to Church there, until I started working there and found out what they were really about....so sad. I have been there a year and they are JUST NOW doing my fingerprinting and backround check. I could have a record for child abuse (which I don't) and I have worked there a year....pathetic! |

But as long as your boss is your boss, don't question your boss. Her actions will be her undoing. So my advice to you is zip it. By the way, you're kinda cute. |

 Absolutely do NOT zip it..But I understand you're opps about you're way of handling it..Been there....It would have only taken 1 accident, and a child being harmed..I think you did the right thing. 2 years olds, and toddlers are all over the place..you would almost have to be an octopus, to handle 11 of them. Remind them, its NOT all about money...children need to be kept safe...

Regardless of the situation you should always try to conduct yourself professionally but it sounds like you did the right thing in standing up for yourself
