Do you consider yourself a giver? or a taker? in relationships, in life ..

Which one rocks your world?

Hiya Fade and Good morning!

I am definitely a giver - always have been and always will. I enjoy doing for others and seeing others happy.

I've always found that the better the relationship, the more I will give. Once the relationship starts to sour, the desire to please declines.

Although we all want nice things done for us as well, I've always found it difficult to accept, and feel sort of embarassed about taking. That, however, doesn't mean that the partner shouldn't at least make an attempt, so at least the other can sense their effort.

Great on both points Lisa.

It's funny .. maybe being a mom of 5 and always in giving mode, causes me to think that way regularly. I too have trouble 'taking' but my kids have been so incredibly generous to me in their love and kind actions that I've really grown to enjoy their devotion.

With a relationship, I usually don't think about taking, just want to please.

I am totally a giver. I love to see peoples faces when I make their day by doing something extra special for them without them knowing I was going to do it.

I can agree with this, with one exception.. If I sense the relationship going sour,I want to know why? Did I do all I could to make it work? After that, I guess you know the end is near. And then as it's stated "the desire to please declines"

I'd like to think I'm a giver. But I think I it's a bit imbalanced for me. Taking a little could probably do some good

being a Cancer I would have to say a giver. Not material eather. It comes from the soul, and the heart. not the wallet

My mother has always said that if you can't give something of yourself, strait from your hear and cheerfully, don't give it at all.

I agree, she is very wise.
