Does a age differance really matter? I'm asking cause I'm interested in a younger person and I'm wondering if it can work long term. Yes I know sex isn't everything.

Depends on the people involved and what they have in common, IMO.

I dont think age matters, its the person and their maturity, cuz you could be 35 and living like a teenager...lol.. its all about the person and where they are at mentally. It can work!... Its all about having a connection with someone whether you are 2yrs apart or 10!.. Good luck to you.

Depends on the person. Have you talked to her?

I prefer men who are a bit older than me (38 - 43). But, I must admit that there are some younger, mature, special men who have drawn my attention. I think it all depends on the two of you and what you are comfortable with.

age is just a number...there must be compatibility between the two with shared interests.

My boyfriend is 12 years younger but we're like twin souls in a lot of ways. I think having common interests is fine but it's even more important, I think, that you are in the same place in your life and that you have common goals (i.e. marriage, children, career, etc). If you're ready for settling down, kids, etc and she's not, doesn't matter what age you are, it'll be an issue. flowerforyou

I should clarify here, realized I didn't specify it at the start, it's a younger guy (I'm bisexual) We do have things in common. We both enjoy music and movies, naturally he's A LOT more into the bedroom lets say. this in itself doesn't bother me persay expect when he wants more if 'it' and I want to sleep. How do u deal with objections from family? I've already been told by his mother 'why are u interested in a **yo isnt he a lil young 4 u?"

I agree with Colieri28 As long as the other person is of legal age.I am 50 and i date women between 34 to 40.I'm dating someone now that's 32 so far every thing is good.As long as you both are happy with the age difference be happy together and don't worry what other people think.

I won't even touch the question of age of consent cause that varies from country to country state to state.

Well, differences in sex drive can be a major stumbling block in relationships of every age, that's something that needs to be discussed and perhaps compromised on if you want this to work out long-term. And, so long as he's of legal age and sound mind, it's really no one's business but your own.

I agree.
However even younger people with an age diffrence have made it work for them,so depends on the couple. Look how many same age relationships fail.To each his/her own decision.

Hes of legal age, sound mind I question at moments when I hear his taste in music etc but I'd say by the legal standards he's of sound mind.
