Depends on what you want to do. I always enjoy going to Cherokee N.C. and also Washington state is very nice as long as you go between June and October.

I was born in Kentucky always thought I'd go one day You were born there. That settles it. Abe Lincoln's childhood home is in KY. There's a lot to see in KY.

I'm trying to decide somewhere to visit this summer any ideas anyone ? I have a ton of ideas but I don't know were Heaven, Tx is and I don't know how far you want to go. I went to New Mexico last year and had a great time. You get up in the mountains and miss the heat. Santa Fe is fun and has lots of interesting things to do. Palo Duro Canyon near Amarillo is the second largest canyon in North America and few people have ever even heard of it. There's always Vegas!

You live in Texas, right, and summers there can kill a person.. Why not go North, say to Canada? I think Goose Bay, Labrador would remind you of what having a climate that changes would be like.

I'm headed for Idaho and Montana late July, early August. Lots to see there and not as hot as Texas...have fun where ever you go!!
