Exactly!! This year I have it off, sooooooo I'm getting myself prepared for it!! YAY!

My family stopped buying for adults also, just for the kids. But last year we played the game with gifts nobody knew what they were (forgot the name of it).. the one where one person could take the gift from another, not knowing what they'd end up with? lol

We kept the limit at $5. A few thought that they'd get "junk" and at first didn't want to participate.. but in the end, they found out you really COULD get some useful things. $5 gas cards, reusuable shopping bags, dryer sheets, box of crackers/cheese .. it wasn't much, but we made it fun and that's the most important part of family get togethers!

I started shopping for my boys already.. not a big start yet, but getting there. I'm one that likes to go shopping on Black Friday, I think it's fun AND exciting! hehe

I hate to be the burden of bad news, but when only one parent is the disciplinary parent and the other doesn't help out.. this will continue until teenage years. He will grow up to learn how to "play" the parents. I've lived this. And each and every time you get your son, you will have to re-program him to your ways. When my boy's would come back from spending a week with their dad, it would take me 2-3 days to get them back in order, unfortunately. But one day, as mine did, he will come to you and thank you, also apologize for being such a chit growing up. lol

ACK!! I feel for you if he has them. It's a LOT of work and treatments are expensive. (or at least they used to be.. sprays, shampoo's, comb's)

I ended up getting them many years ago, from my ex-husband's nephew at the time, he had lice and slept on my pillow on the couch. Funny thing is, nobody else in our house caught them. JUST ME "lucky" lol The comb destroyed my hair and took HOURS to go through with that dang comb.

Be sure to spray EVERYWHERE.. along your baseboards, on/under the mattress, carpets, couch cushions..

Same here, my boys were 7 and 12 at the time of divorce. And if they wanted to spend the weekend with their dad on my weekends, I would allow them to. I tried to keep as much as possible the same, how we spent the holidays, ect.. It wasn't until my youngest turned 13/14 that he no longer wanted to go for the weekend with his dad, I didn't force the issue, his choice.

I started having my family at the age of 21. I worked hard and was never in the "system". How can you set rules on this?? There are MANY women/men in the "system" with children.

Hypothetical situations pertaining to work, not your home life. At least in all of my years of interviewing, they've NEVER asked personal questions pertaining to my home life. And in my opinion the OP overstepped her boundries and made it personal in the interview with her "I went a bit "motherly" on her, she is my son's age and asked her
what the rush is, and told how difficult this would be..
" statement. She doesn't know the whole situation outside of the work environment. It is not up to an employer to give advice on when it's a good time or not to start a family.

Put the pregnancy factor aside. Did she portray the capable abilities to represent your company to the fullest? Was she qualified to fill the position? As a reminder, you can NOT discriminate due to pregnancy of a person for hire.

I think your emphasis on her age and artificial insemination is playing a major roll in your decision, in which is should not.
