well, everyone who helped me this morning and after I told her my Older brother is a police officer in AZ. Which is the truth. I haven't gotten any emails from "her" So this person was a fake. Everyone, I was emailing from a woman from a diffrent website this weekend and I thought she was going to be the great true love for me. Guess not. Really sucks. It was a SCAM.

That is a fact of life in the online dating world. Since my divorce 2 years ago, I have been on e-harmony twice, christian mingle, singles.net, plenty of fish.com, and this web site, and from experience, 80 percent of everyone I have gotten contact from has been scam artists. I have had the same stories from multiple people with the same senario's, set of facts, problems, and ways of giving them support for them to come home to you. It is as if there was one guy paying a bunch of women for opening accounts and telling them how to scam. I've even seen the same pictures of some of these women on 2 different web sites with different names and ages. It is pretty depressing that there are many people praying on lonely people, but just be smart about it, and if it seems too good to be true than it is. First, a woman isn't going to want to be with you right when you start talking, if they state they are in a foreign country for any reason, that is a widely known scam. They also tend to want to get you off of the site quickly and get you to email them at a personal email address, so they dont get kicked off of the site. Believe me, I've seen it all and havent yet met anyone sincere, partly because that is a rare breed online.

Im going to offer you a little advice. If you meet someone online that you really like and are hitting it off, ask them to get a webcam. You should have one also and that way you can see one another in real time. Its not out of line to ask someone to do this for you because webcams are cheap cheap now. You can get one on Ebay for sometimes under $20 with free shipping. I will just cam with people once I get to know them a little better. Its also fun. Good luck.

I'm currently under the presumption that true love cannot be found except by few and rare people. If you think about it enough you really start seeing it as a 50/50 shot, eventually you get tired of hitting the latter 50...

They (the Nigerian scammers) are in every possible avenue on the net. Craigslist, ebay, all these dating places. If they put half the energy and creativity into something legit they would be rich!!

Well their ports are too far away from any primary shipping lanes, so they have little opportunity to be pirates. At least that's why I never became a pirate. That, and I don't have a parrot.

Unfortunately they are rich...well the head of the scam rings are. There are several excellent love scam sites out there to help you id scammers.

Scamming is organized crime on the internet. Got several e-mails from a lady over a few days. Knowing how to trace where an e-mail is coming from she had to be using a transporter....Western Kansas to Eastern Illinios...to Georgia.....to Colorado. All the while she was claiming to me in Kansas.

Old Russian saying, "Trust but verify". Follow that and you can avoid being scammed. Also be cautious about what you share.
