So I am a guy right. Not like you couldn't tell from my pic. I like to think I'm an oddball when it comes to music. I also insist I have a very wide interest in muzak. I'll listen to anything that sounds good to me like most normal folks. We listen to what we like right. So I'll ask a question now, why do we like the muzak we like? Feel free to answer that however you wish.

Moving on, the reason I think I'm an oddball when it comes to muzak is because I am not too fond of a lot of female muzak artists. I do like some mind you but more often then not I will not even give the song or artist much of a chance. I like guy singers, I'm not going to ask ("does that make me gay?") cause that is certainly not the case. I will ask is this common among other guys? again answer anyway you wish.

If your a female you may reverse this whole issue and answer as well.

Also I am big on romantic songs. I do believe in romance and the power of love (real love)

So as it stands the music I like most is romantic songs that are sung by guys. So am I an oddball?

Some people like very specific types of music. I don't think it's odd. You just like what you like.

muzak should be outlawed. but music is a passion of mine, from mozart to manson, its artistry inspires me and coarses through my veins. i won't admit to liking one gender over the other, but being a hardcore metal fan, it's the raw masculinity that invades my senses.

If you like a certain type of music, go for it.

My music genre runs from Classic rock, to blues, to jazz, to old top 40, to old Mowtown, to some classical, to some metal out there today.

I also agree with what drinker (((bastet)))drinker posted.

If the music kicks you in the azz, go for it.That is the bottom line.drinker drinks

Thats really awesome guys what makes you feel good about the music you like? Rara you have such a wide area of musical taste but you don't listen to all those genres in one sitting right? And Bastet you like the metal I can appreciate that I have had some good times with friends and we had some hard stuff playing in the bg.

Sing you say ppl like what they like so how does our music reflect our personalities?

sometimes i listen to alot of the same thing, but more often my playlist can jump from andrea boccelli to opeth. i gotta satisfy my yin and my yang! i've always said most people, and i use 'most' loosely because i don't want to generalize, hear music. i feel it. it's like a 7th sense that goes beyond hearing.

and because i listen to many different genres, i do believe music in some ways personifies my personalities, it can portray my many sides.

i listen to pretty much anything that isn't Instrumental.i like having words go along with the music but the majority of the time i'll listen to mainly songs that are upbeat.that doesn't mean i don't like slow songs but i'm impatient and i guess i think songs that are upbeat will get to the end of the song quicker (dumb i know...).

i love everything from Rock,Classic Rock,Oldies,Doo Wop,Hip Hop,Country,Metal,Bluegrass and even some Gospel (Surprise!)

Why couldn't someone listen to many genres in one sitting? I often have shuffle on, so there's a very random selection of music playing.

As for personalities, you tell me. Does your music choice reflect your personality?

Alright,to just answer the questions!
First your not an odd-ball cause i'd have to say i like guy singers more than girls and I do not consider myself an odd-ball. I have the same problem when it comes to giving lady singers a chance, not sure why other than i feel that when guys sing and i listen i can understand it better,(maybe?)lol. I'm Not a romantic song guy though. I like Ska,hip-hop,rap,raggae,pretty much everything accept COUNTRY!

Bastet you say you can feel the music. That is really interesting, are you talking about a persons passion for the music that makes them the happiest?

Jtevans have you ever heard of Apocalyptica there instrumental and incredible. Check em out if you have not heard of them yet. My fave piece of theirs is called "Path."

And to answer your question Sweet. I don't like mixing up the genres I most enjoy cause it ruins the flow for me, also my mood influences the kinda music I want to hear at any given time.

Kyle I love reggae but whats wrong with country? Also what is ska?

that's part of it, but it's one of those indescribable things, more like electricity that rocks, or soothes, your soul. almost a euphoria with some music for me. and live music...orgasmic! laugh
