Does anyone else think Miley Cyrus handlers erred by having her try to play the sexual performance on stage with her 'party in the usa' song? It was so outside of the character that her fans are used to and didnt look as if she was comfortable in it either.

I didn't see it, but in my opinion, she's quite young to be doing 'sexy' and pole dancing!

She's trying to express herself. But I'm not impressed by any of the things she's done. She really needs to prove herself as a role model for young children.

I think she is overall a good role model, that is why her pole dance performance was such a shocker to me.

She's lookin' ahead. Soon she won't be a kid anymore and she'll have to adapt if she's gonna' keep her success.

I saw what you're talking about and it was hardly a pole dance, it was more like hanging onto a pole while dancing. Almost the same thing, but not quite the same connotation.

still not the image or the appropriat actions for the fan base that has carried her this far.

I really don't think her fan base is even old enough to make that connection. She was on a cart that was moving, there was a pole there for her to keep her balance. That was the whole story.

We must have seen a different perfomance. The platform I saw her perform on was still and the pole was as well. She was the only thing moving besides the other dancers.

Its possible we did, however she IS still a 16 year old girl. She's not taking her clothes off and I've not seen her do a whole lot to raise eyebrows at. I'd rather my nephew watch her than damn Lady Gaga for cryin out loud. How did YOU dance at 16? If I remember 16 correctly its that age where you think you're grown but you're not, we all go through it. Let her be a teenage girl.

Let me make one more point. On Disney channel she is Hannah Montana. She is a disney brand. On stage as Miley Cyrus, she IS in fact a teenage girl who is trying to find who she is just like we've all been at one point. I'm certainly not president of her fan club, but I've seen much worse lately and there could be and WILL be much worse. Hello, didn't little miss high school musical show her muff in pictures she took for Zac Efron(sp?)? Again I mention Lady Gaga, then there's (though I like her and is fine for adults) Britney Spears. I can't even let my nephew listen to the full Nickleback album because any song that hasn't made it to radio isn't ALLOWED to be on radio. The same goes for many other artists right now. As long as she's making music that I can let him listen to without worrying about cussing or him learning things he's not ready to know yet, I'm all for her.

She's made millions. She can do whatever she pleases and consumers will go along.

Brittany went from the Mouseketteers to a mental case pantyless hose bag......does her stuff still sell? you better believe it.

Maddonna went from a money grubbing skank to a self empowered woman who is now a role model for millions of women....not just girls...WOMEN.

Elvis went from singing in church to an @ss shaking hellion that was gonna be the downfall of American life....then went on to be a chubby polyesther wearing GOD!

Hell, even Ozzy went from getting banned for life from San Antonio to being declared a role model for parents since he don't want his kids AFU on drugs and tells em to use birth control.

To expect this one chick to stay strictly within a teenybopper genre' for the rest of her carreer is simply not realistic.

She seems to have actually been pole dancing on an ice cream tray, I stand corrected.

My point was BECAUSE her fan base mostly comes from the DISNEY viewers, her performance may have gone a bit off course with the image they have been supporting in the past(a more disney , conservative image). AS far as the pole dancing,,no, at 16 I really WASNT dancing that way, but I guess I can agree that times have changed as well as what has become accepted for teens and children. I believe she has EVERY right to do what she wishes, my question was more about whether she had gone very far off the type of performance her fans may be expecting from her. It would kind of be like Taylor swift singing a song about casual sex. It would be her right, but it would be off of the image I think they have been trying to create and the 'values' they typically represent in their music and performances.

Let me add that I always wish young people the best, my question wasnt to put her down, it was to question the judgment of her HANDLERS.

How come no one talks about Dakota Fanning?
She's only 15 or 16, but the other day she was on a talk show in a skirt so short when she sat down I saw her panties.
What's up with that?

Lol, dakota is an excellent actress,, she doesnt really represent wholesomeness per se though becuase her roles range from the innocent to the risque.
