admits to using steroids and using them for 10 years. so the 70 homeruns are tainted:cry:i had my doubts that he didn't but yep he did....so now Sosa is probably next

this is why i think Randy johnson is the greatest pitcher ever cause he pitched in an era of cheaters

Of course Sosa did. It is not shocking but sucks. I still love the game but not a fan like I was. Sad day.......smokin

i still like the game but it sucks to say i got to see the homerun records getting crushed by cheaters....so in my eyes Hank Aaron is still the Homerun kingdrinker

My thoughts exactly. Loved Hank growing up. There used to be real characters in the game especialy back in the 70's. Now all the players are pretty vanilla. I will still watch my Tribe....laugh

On the bright side, the subject of Ken Griffey Jr. came up today while I was having lunch. Junior turns 40 this year and is incredibly unlikely for him to be linked to steriod usage. The arguement was that if Griffey had been using like Big Mac, he would'nt have missed so much time due to injury in his career.

If Jr plays into his mid 40's like many expect him to, a non steriod user may again hold the HR record. That's something I think that the sport greatly needs since A-Rod already let us down.

for stats, Griffey needs 132 homers to tie Bonds. that's an average of 22 per year through his 46th birthday. Julio Franco played until age 48 and Griffey is likely to start batting DH this year.

I would love to see that but that is a stretch. He did miss alot of time with injuries. Jr always reminded me of Barry Bonds back when he was playing for the Pirates. That's a very good point.

Griffey if he wouldn't of went to the NL he may have been able to DH and have a few more homeruns, because alot of his injuries still would of allowed him to DH in the AL

I saw him play a few times. He was on our team. He was awesome to watch.

McDonalds would have free Big Macs when he made a home run.

I'm glad that he finally came clean about it.

to be honest i think he would've been a great player even if he didn't do steroids...i mean bonds was good even before he started using them.Arod the same and of course the list goes on

I agree. He would have been a great player even if he didn't do the steroids. That's why I don't understand why he even did them.

according to him he did them to help heal his injuries quicker...maybe so but others look at it as buffing to have a faster swing aka cheating.i liked him even when he was with the A's but it is what it is,no hall of fame for him either

Corticosteroids such as Prednisone are the healing steroids - not anabolic steroids.

I knew it, but liked him because he was an advocate for abused children and donates much of his money and time to them, yes he used steroids when he got injured, but not to cheat like bonds did....anyhow, it sends a very bad message to the kids following in their footsteps, you have to take drugs to perform on a major level...Thank God for Ken Griffrey Jr. Can you imagine how many homers he would have hit.....his 600 is far more valuable to me than bonds record.

If Jr plays into his mid 40's like many expect him to, a non steriod user may again hold the HR record

^as much as I'd love to see it, I seriously doubt it, maybe if he went back to seattle....but his hard playing has taken a toll on his body, he has maybe 2-3 years left at best.
