You hear about pick up lines and buying a girl a drink but today tell the truth. A guy notices you and really wants to get your number.. what is the best combination of words he should use to ensure success?

I like the Tarzan approach, me Tarzan you Jane - no room for negotiations laugh

There is no "magic line" a guy can use- on me. Either I'm attracted and/or interested in him and want to get to know him better or I don't. A guy that I find intriguing can say "hello" and I'll want to talk to him. A guy who's totally not my type can use the world's best come on line and it won't work. It just depends on what you like, JMO.

Having a good personality and a sense of humor as well as being able to hold a conversation will get you as far as you want to be.

No one likes the standard pick up lines they get boring be unique by being yourself and just having fun.....

Getting others to talk to you and laughing breaks the ice every time..

You're right. So many guys think if they can just say the right thing a woman will like him. But, it's not that simple. It's not about what he says, it's about how he says it. It's about the overall vibe or energy he puts out. If a great looking guy is nervous and stands there looking at his shoes he won't get anywhere. But, an average looking guy that looks a woman in the eye, stands up tall and speaks with confidence and a smile will do pretty good.

Women always things things like this and when men try it it simply doesn't work. Remember that scene from Tootsie? Dustin Hoffman tells Jessica Lang exactly what she told him she wanted a man to say to her when she thought he was a woman. When he says it to her as a man she threw her drink in his face. LOL That approach simply doesn't get a good result.

It's better to go in, say hello, start a conversation, have some playful banter, complement her for something other than her looks and after all that ask for her number.

If the first thing you say is something like "You are a very attractive woman and I'd like to get to know you." She'll snub you almost every time. I know many women are going to say I'm wrong, but I have approached thousands of women in my life. I know what will work and what won't.

He is our resident Wilt Chamberlain.

A modern day Arthur Fonzarelli.

A forty-something Ferris Beuller.

I'm considering driving out to Texas just to spend one weekend as his wing-man, just so I can take notes.

Do you think a single weekend will be enough?

Haha.

The O.P. was asking for ladies, but all the men chipped in too, so I might as well throw in my two cents.

I haven't had that much experience, but I would tend to agree more with TexasScoundral about the small talk.

Yes, women like compliments about their appearance, but usually only from a guy that they are into. So if it is the first thing out of your mouth when you meet them, it comes across as lame, creepy or crude. Maybe it works with the young ones, but any woman over 25 has heard it all before.

I have a girlfriend that is in her 40s and looks fantastic. She can't go to the grocery store without some guy saying something about her eyes, butt, boobs, legs, shape, waist, etc.

She is sick of the unwanted comments from men, whatever their intentions are, even if they are a "nice" guy.

I laid the groundwork over several conversations before I ever asked her out and never once did I say anything about her looks. I didn't have to. The fact that I was talking and flirting with her let her know I found her attractive. By the time we went out on our fist date, we knew quite a bit about each other.

I didn't have some line. I just talked with her and got to know her and let her get to know the positive things about myself. (so now she can accept the negative things, haha)

No big mystery. Yes, there has to be some kind of physcial attraction, but I'm no Brad Pitt. She fell for me because of my character and the way I treated her.

When you ask a woman what she wants she tells you what she wants in a relationship. Not what turns her on to a man in the beginning.

two different perspectives

1. one buddy of mine..he's a very fast mover, the second sentence out of his mouth is can i get your #..stats are like 1/12...which if you think about it, really isn't that bad...sometimes it is bad though at small get togethers since it makes the rejecting girl feel uncomfortable

2. another buddy of mine..he doesn't ask girls for their #'s, they ask him for his...

Most of us are somewhere in between...figure out where you are and just go for it

That's easy

there's no big story behind it

just come up to me

" hey I noticed you. My name is so and so"

talk to me a little bit

"Can I have your #?"

yes or no I will answer

Fine:heart:
