I've had it happen many times. But, I'm not sure it was always if ever intentional. My most recent...I fell in love with a guy last summer & he started drinking excessively. I couldn't deal with it & left as I'm a recovering alcoholic myself. I think it mainly boiled down to he thought he was ready for a relationship but couldn't stop loving his ex wife. I think in his heart he really did care for me & thought he was ready to move forward into a new relationship. But, it just wasn't the same type of love he'd shared 8 years with the ex. They eventually got back together & I hope everything works out the best for him. I know most would have been mad as hell & I admit I was truly hurt over our breakup, spent many nights crying & withdrawing from my friends. But, I'd rather lose him than have him in body only when his love is for another.

Very very true for I refuse to shut mine down we learn from the past but never let it control the door to our hearts......

It really hurts when someone messes with you heart, I just recently had someone do that to me so I got even I told the next person of this heartbreaker what was goig on to watch out for that so hopefully they wont have the some thing happen to them. I refuse!! to allow this to happen to anyeone I am going to more protective of my heart from now on.

Sometimes I think we let our own selves get hurt. That we're so eager for someone to love & allow our emotions to overtake our brain. Now, don't get this mixed up with desperation. Desperation would mean anybody could fulfill that need. It takes someone you thinks special to break a heart. At least it's always been that way for me. I really have no one to blame but myself.
