Ted Kennedy's car has killed more people than my gun. oops
Of course Teddy's gone so his car can do no more harm. waving Unfortunately there are many more gun grabbing politicians in his stead with their sites on the guns of honest Americans like myself.

I think my Uncle Charlie said it right and I concur; "From my cold dead hands!"

Yeah...and what bearing does that event or any other tragedy have on the right of honest people to defend themselves?
People kill people. Not guns.

but guns sure make it easier for the dumber weaker ones to do the killing,,,

at least the founders had to actually WORK to load and reload between kills, and swords and knives took some type of STRENGtH and EFFORT

It was the deadliest shooting rampage in American history until the 2007 Virginia Tech massacre.

True and as time goes on and technology advances guns, like many other things get more sophisticated. It's not a happy reality but it is still reality. The biggest gun runs the show. The fact that "the dumber and weaker ones" have access to weapons is at the very base of why I have the right to own them as well. Violent crime per-capita in states that allow the citizenry to carry weapons is a fraction of murder and gun related crime in places like Washington DC.
Go figure.

The Virginia Tech massacre was a school shooting that took place on Monday, April 16, 2007 on the campus of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Virginia. In two separate attacks, approximately two hours apart, the perpetrator, Seung-Hui Cho, killed 32 people and wounded many others[1] before committing suicide. The massacre is the deadliest peacetime shooting incident by a single gunman in United States history, on or off a school campus.

I only wish I (or another citizen with a permit to carry) had been in that cafeteria. I carry a concealed weapon and I know how to use it. I would have ended that tragedy before those innocent lives were taken.

People will always kill people. Before guns there were swords and before swords were clubs. To just blame the item that helped to kill takes away the from the real problem of idiots killing innocent people.

When some mass killer like the ones pmarco are citing, are out to kill, it would be nice to be armed to be able to stop them, thus saving more lives by taking the one who's doing all the killing.

When the Feds come for your guns, give em the bullets first!!drinks

In the U.S. during 2004 there were just under 30,ooo people killed by guns with only 40% of them being homocides. The same year, almost 43,000 were killed from cars. Should be get rid of the cars first?

You get rid of guns and you know who still has guns? Criminals.
I don't care what you say. Statistically if people were carrying a gun at any of those tragedies their odds of survival would have been higher. You know they have a gun. They don't know you have one. They have many targets and you have one.

Another thing to consider is other countries wanting to attack us. The U.S. Government has P.O.'d a LOT of allies (let alone made a few new foes) during the Bush admin! You want to know why terrorists have to resort to flying planes into buildings? It's cause we have more guns and we know how to use them!

Doesn't make it right to take gun away from law abiding citizens nor the right to protect yourself....or to take away the right to hunt. Just because there are unstable people in the world.....if we take away the right to bear arms then weonly open up the black market more with less of a chance to trace and catalog weapons.

Should aircraft be banned? Think 9-11! 4 'incidents' in a short few hours killed 6000+. Compare that to the number of gun deaths in this country in a whole year.
