Staring at the future
But stuck within the past
It tears me up inside
To see what I've become
As hope waves goodbye
The infinite sadness arrives
Daily routine of the sinner
Basking in a sensation that overwhelms
Deep within my very soul
Soon to be lost forever
Shadowed by my fading light

A sinner is made to sin
A lover is made to love
A path is made to be walked
A street is made to be crossed
But I am none of these, save one
Yet I've done all of them
Without a single thought
Just another lost soul
Trying to mend his broken heart
I’ve basked in the sunlight
Almost drowned in the rain
I've danced to the demon's rhythm
And the sadness began to stray
It was the very fabric of life
That gave me all these scars
As blood fills the sink
With wounds thought to be healed
By a lovers touch
But all becomes a whisper
As dreams fade into memories
All lost upon a twinkling star

Battered, broken, with nowhere left to turn
Tired of this lonely heart
Sick of its consistent beating
I’m searching for the place I once knew
A place where the flowers grew
Resting beneath this big, blue sky
Saddened by the rising sun
Yearning for my silent moon
Entering a place of mental solitude
In a shelter not built on pain
I pray to God everyday
In a feeble attempt to find forgiveness
Yet these troubles won’t just run away
Maybe it's not even His to give
Even a saint must die, to get his title
So I sing the Ferryman's tune

Tears hidden by this mask
As the joker takes the stage
You can tell me to laugh
You can tell me to smile
But I live with this burden
That I see in every tomorrow
That’s why I call myself
The man of sin and sorrow
