Depends on the gift. Engagement ring might not be a good first date gift.

She's kind of a tomboy & she like the Cubs. Someone gave me some random baseball cards. I found two Cubs. One for her & one for her baby boy. I'm thinking too far ahead though. I haven't even asked her out yet. Haha.

women will not be too offened that you have thought that far in advance. it is a sweet gesture and not too flouncy

NOt sayting that is what you had in mind...But it does hit a soft spot even in the hardest person when another thinks about our kids... Plus the gift is not over doing it...which I would recomend never to do on the first date...now second one it's all open....

Jerry gave me a random gift on our first date ...The amazing thing was we both had the same gift in mind for the other one...It was an 8 x 10 copy of a picture we both liked...

Does this actually work or is it too "nice guy"? Stop worrying about being a nice guy and just be yourself. If it's someone you've been getting to know prior to the date, giving her something little isn't a bad idea.

Yeah, I've been playin it cool with this one. Don't wanna scare her off. I think I'll wait until the second date. I don't know. I don't wanna come on too strong, too fast and have her mistake that for desperation or something. She already kinda offered me a gift, so we'll see how that goes.

See, I don't get the whole "trying to play it cool" thing. If I like someone or I'm interested in dating them, I just say that or express it in some way. If I "scare" them away by just being myself then that's ok because it means he wasn't the right person for me. I can't handle the stress of trying to be anything else than myself.

That is being myself. I'm just kind by nature. I never try to act different in front of anyone. If someone doesn't like me for who I am, there not worth my time anyway.
