ROARING SPRING, Pa. (AP) - A Pennsylvania school district says a teacher was exercising his First Amendment rights during a speech in which he drew parallels between Nazi Germany and the United States under President Barack Obama.

Spring Cove School District officials say no disciplinary action will be taken against teacher Philip Waite for comments he made at a July 1 tea party rally in Blair County.

Democrats criticized Waite for the speech, in which he likened federal governmental power to Nazism.

Waite said Adolf Hitler was a "slick, quick talker" who told citizens "'you don't need to worry about responsibility."

Speaking after Waite, Republican U.S. Senate candidate Tom Smith said he spoke "eloquently" but later called his comments "divisive."

Waite tells The Altoona Mirror his words have been oversimplified.

I think he was within his rights to say it.

If they don't like it, and plan to do something about it.... then what he is saying will be proven true.

Come on. This guy made these remarks at a Tea Party rally, so he was just employing the usual political hyperbole. One could draw 'some' parallels between the Nazis and any government if one made empirical comparisons (i.e. bureaucracy etc.). It doesn't mean anything really.

If he were a Democrat five years ago, making a Statement like that he would have been applauded and been given a Reward by the DNC!laugh

The teacher, Phillip Waite, knows absolutely nothing about history if he makes a comparison to Hitler.

If Obama were truly like Hitler, the Gestapo would have kicked the living sheet out of Mr. Waite by now.

I think we live in a fascist state now be it a modern one.

All your emails and electronic messages are collected and stored.
Every purchase you make that is non cash is recorded.

It doesn't matter how your controlled as long as your are.
The American form of Fascism is kinda fun, watch your games on TV
Play the lottery go to work and you will never have trouble with the authorities.

However when you step out of line you will be on a no fly list, your emails read and you will be observed.

America has the highest number of people per capita in prison than any country on the planet.

U.S. prison population dwarfs that of other nations

The United States has less than 5 percent of the world's population. But it has almost a quarter of the world's prisoners.

Indeed, the United States leads the world in producing prisoners, a reflection of a relatively recent and now entirely distinctive American approach to crime and punishment. Americans are locked up for crimes — from writing bad checks to using drugs — that would rarely produce prison sentences in other countries. And in particular they are kept incarcerated far longer than prisoners in other nations.

Criminologists and legal scholars in other industrialized nations say they are mystified and appalled by the number and length of American prison sentences.

The United States has, for instance, 2.3 million criminals behind bars, more than any other nation, according to data maintained by the International Center for Prison Studies at King's College London.

China, which is four times more populous than the United States, is a distant second, with 1.6 million people in prison. (That number excludes hundreds of thousands of people held in administrative detention, most of them in China's extrajudicial system of re-education through labor, which often singles out political activists who have not committed crimes.)

San Marino, with a population of about 30,000, is at the end of the long list of 218 countries compiled by the center. It has a single prisoner.

The United States comes in first, too, on a more meaningful list from the prison studies center, the one ranked in order of the incarceration rates. It has 751 people in prison or jail for every 100,000 in population. (If you count only adults, one in 100 Americans is locked up.)

The only other major industrialized nation that even comes close is Russia, with 627 prisoners for every 100,000 people. The others have much lower rates. England's rate is 151; Germany's is 88; and Japan's is 63.

There is nothing about the United States that even remotely
resembles Nazi Germany. See for yourself here - it is no joke.

Really?

"God , I hate the Germans," Eisenhower wrote to his wife, Mamie, in September, 1944. Earlier, in front of the British ambassador to Washington, he had said that all the 3,500 or so officers of the German General Staff should be "exterminated."

Ron Paul mentions America's "secret prisons" and torture in front Congress and speaks out about America's obsession with Iran.

So who do you think these secret prisons are for??? Some of them already have people in them. They are "classified."

Fact #: Modern-day
vaccines have their
roots in Nazi medical
experiments

Most United States citizens would opt out of getting vaccines if they understood
that natural foods, vitamins, herbs and supplements build up the immune
system enough to fight off almost any disease known to mankind. For 70
plus years, the pharmaceutical industry (Big Pharma) has succeeded at its
malicious money-making schemes, despite a well-documented history full of
horrific lessons.

In 2006, the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act (PREP) was
signed into law by the Bush Administration, giving the U.S. Government the
power to declare a "national emergency" for any infectious disease they claim
is spreading and therefore require mandatory vaccinations for the entire
population of the United States. In other words, U.S. citizens can now be
denied their constitutional right of choice and be force-vaccinated or face
jail time for being a "threat to national security," all without any legal representation. (http://www.infowars.com)

There is a war going on today for chemical-free food and water, and a war for
personal liberties that allow citizens the right tohave GMO foods labeled, and
to opt out of vaccinations. It's been only 70 years since World War II, and the
mad scientists didn't just go away, they went to work for corporations
and pharmaceutical companies that run the vaccine and food industries
now. Their heirs are continuing the "tradition" of making money by any
means, with complete disregard for human sanctity.
