Topic: Why men should not have a feminine side

I have been hearing this terminology flung around to describe a sensitive, caring and compassionate man. For one I could not disagree any more than the Earth is round and hanging on nothing. Men do not need a feminine side because we are not feminine. Some men are effeminate, but that is another chapter in manology 101. What are your thoughts?

Such descriptions are so subjective. As for finding the right guy for me? I'll know him when I see him. (Which is why I don't find guys online anymore...I want to SEE him)

I believe firmly that we are all part of a male and female and therefor have the capacity within us to reflect all the characteristics of those two

some develop more of their MALE as they grow and develop
and some develop more of their female as they grow and develop

some have a healthy balance

like a woman who can be nurturing AND step up to protect her kids

or a man who can be strong and protective and step back to be nurturing,,,

I didn't realize that sensitive, caring and compassionate were strictly feminine traits. I always thought they were human traits

they are, for all humans have them

which is my point about all having female and male

females nurture, by creation, in carrying and nursing children, men arent given that capability, those are (to me) part of the (Feminine) nurturing side of life

while all that nurturing is happening, the balance of protection and providing has to be done as well and that is how the masculine (complimentary) balances out the role of the two people who create life together,,,

but none of this is 'strictly' male or female, they are just masculine and feminine traits that we all possess....

exactly like yin and yang

we have the capacity to have it inside of ourself

or to come together with another in COMPLIMENT to nurture and develop new lives,,,

I agree. Sort of like Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus.

We all have all of these characteristics and I don't think showing them makes someone less of a man or woman.

All of your replies are quite interesting. Thank you for your thoughts. Now delving just under the surface a bit let's say you are a female interested in having a male mate and vice versa. How do you chose?

In nature birds and other creatures select mates based on prominent characteristics, such as brightness of color, melody, motion, aggression and so on. Most importantly, however, is the mere presence of the male or female making themself available. How does that relate to man and woman to you?

I agree with Pyxie. Who cares if a guy has more feminine traits than masculine. Let him be. I am sure most men say I have more masculine traits than feminine at times as well. Whats the big deal? I am me. Sometimes I can be very feminine or a real tomboy. Most important thing is that I am the person I am meant to be. If society can't accept it; why would I give a crap? I am on this earth for a short time and damn it I am going to enjoy it my way. pitchfork

I can say only speak for myself but a man who is too effeminate would not work for me. It may work for some women but I myself am not sensitive person so a sensitive man would be not work out for me. I believe what the OP is referring to is traditional gender roles. On that note I say don't beat me over the head with a club or try to keep me barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen and we'll do ok LOL

I can only speak for myself and MsMyka, but if a woman shows up, I would screw her, except wonen can't and don't do it as readily as men (MsMyka agrees.)

So yes, sheerly being present is one thing, and the presentation is the other, that make up the magic combination. And like in the animal world, both must be available. In human contact we call that "mutual content." Or consent, or intent, or whatever. Mutual consent is given when the intent is attaining contentment through sexual satisfaction.

Geeze. Everything is so hard these days... and getting harder and harder. We now not only have incredibly high obstacles to surmount in order to get laid, but now sheerly talking about getting laid prerequires a Ph.D. in one of the social sciences. (but I ain't telling Which Social Science! Neener! Neener!)

OP, in light of the text quoted, I have to ask you: would you screw Yamin? Please, nobody get a cow, I am ONLY going by her profile picture, nothing else, which at this time shows a multicoloured exotic type bird, most likely indigenous to the tropics.

Women will outlive a man simply because they (fundamentally) care more. In constant evolutionary theories I always see how useless a man really is the longer we live. For women, as bitchy (sometimes aka smart) catty (self-protective) as we can get, we are more complex on a much deeper level. Even when we are hurt, we talk about our feelings, believe in honesty, care about our friendships, mostly don't result to violence to prove our stance as a human, deal (grieve) with our problems forthwith and so on...

The species could thrive without the presence of robotic testosterone. Scientific hypothesis can test and measure this. Knowing science and nature, anything is possible.
