Someone could put on a big "show" of romance to get someone into the bedroom...In this case it would be more of a manipulation tactic...The focus would be on winning what they want versus caring about the person they hope to "win over."

No.

To be that malnipulative you would have to put in some time. Plus I think you know in your gut if they really care.

Carol, I don't understand why you say this. To me it seems obvious that it's possible. I'm not sure it's even manipulative. Some people are great at being romantic, affectionate, all that, but just don't have the capability for true caring. It's a personality defect (IMO) but I don't think it's necessarily intentional, especially with younger people who haven't figured themselves out yet.

Caring but not romantic is also highly possible, in my book.

Yes a person can be romantic and not caring and caring but not really a romantic person.

I had a man friend, who was very caring, but he lacked knowing how to be truly romantic. And some women love romance!!!

I have a man email me on here for 2 days very nice and caring, yet he has yet to be romantic and keeps asking for photos and moving to Yahoo. lol I am skeptic of this man. It is becoming annoying asking for Web cam and Skype. I do not do all that with Strangers online. lol I waiting for my last reply to him about it.

Sorry. I got off on another topic. lol

The only time someone could be romantic and not caring
Is if they have gotten hurt in the past, with a similar personality "A typical" and does not want to be hurt again,
yet for some reason they are still atracted to this FAMILIAR looking like person?

could it be LUST? could it be LOW SELF ESTEEM, or perhaps he/she is niave enough to think they are healthier now(in the mind) and that it could not happen again to them TWICE if he/she doesn't care?

SO to protect himself or herself, this person chooses to be romantic and yet keep a degree of indiference (NOT CARING)?

I know some of you will jump to respond; that is not fair and the new person, should not be held liable for other peoples' doings?

My response is the human race is 7,000,000,000 strong, and each mind is a universe in him or herself.

I think you could be romantic and not caring, OR ELSE you can be caring and not romantic, but you can't be both romantic and not caring and not romantic and caring, at the same time and in the same respect.

So the answer to the OP's question is no, but if he changed the "and vice versa" to "or vice versa", then the answer could be a yes as well.

This question made me think of those people who enjoy the beginning stages of dating. They go out on a first date and really hit it off with that person. So the "romance" bug kicks in and it's all fantastic. But then, a month or so down the road, that person wakes up one morning and realizes that they are bored with the relationship. Now. Did they lie to themselves in thinking that this particular relationship was going to be THE relationship? Did they just want to not be alone and figure "Hey! Why not give this a shot"? Or were they acting, and as someone stated are just a cold, heartless tard? Maybe it's all the above. I dunno. Just my random thinking. Lol.
