The people you meet on the forums are generally
the active participants, easy to get to know.

I believe that the men get hit with the scammers on sites. They are the most vulnerable. I keep hearing horror stories. We are lucky that we are mostly immune as women to the routine scams on sites. They mostly target gullible men. The worst part is that some of these "suitors" are not even female. They are males disguised as hot women to lure the unsuspecting men. It should be criminal if it isn't already so.

But don't get sucked in by romantic type emails with attractive pictures. I nearly got caught, but alarm bells started to ring when questions I asked were not replied to, in fact totally ignored. Started to research the net and came across a site about scamming and there was this person and all there alias's with stories of people who had been caught and said good bye to hundreds and thousands of pounds.
Keep your wits about you and you'll have a good time meeting and chatting with people.

On Mate1 they want you to pay only $1.95 for a 3 day trial but will charge you later $49.95 per month for nothing. Oh you have 16people in your inbox when in reality you have none. Don't fall for it.

WARNING if you meet someone and she tries to go directly to email. DON'T. I got took for a couple of hundred that way. And she wanted more.

I agree with using the forum, but many of the individuals who use this site don't enter the forum discussions. Some individuals will try for money and are assisted by other members on a site. No not this one! You need to read the forum at times with the discussions taking place and see who's say what and play your cards from there.

You can contact many people of interest, but may only receive a few replies. IT IS TEDIOUS! Something I've discovered and not saying it will help, but create a profile on different sites that offers more detailed questions about yourself and interest. You may want to use the same name and photo so if someone else from this site sees you they can have a better understanding of who you are.

Other site want 2-10 times the amount this site does, but as a free membership they show a few details that this site doesn't offer. These other sites are not a easy to use as mingle2 and give you the run around also with profiles since your not paying to use them.

I don't think these sites give ample dating opportunities that's similar to every day life, but they offer an avenue to potentially meet someone. With people moving around more often now day's it does get more difficult to meet someone if your single and aging.

I'm not an expert on dating tips either, only a little observation with what I've seen since I've joined a few sites.
