i thought of this story i've read..somewhere...and want to share..perhaps you've heard it..perhaps..not...

He had committed the crime.He stood before the king.His punishment was about to be dealt.The king gives the criminal a choice...hang by a rope or choose what was behind the iron door.The criminal swiftly picks the rope.As the rope is being put around his neck,he asks the king "what was behind the iron door,i cannot tell anyone,won't you tell me?" The king replies "I give all the criminals the same choice and most always they choose the rope...behind the iron door.....it's freedom,yet everyone is so afraid of the unknown they take the known."

Ah yes, seems predictable. I may just have asked for a last smoke, and chosen what's behind the iron door. If Im going to die, it doesn't really matter how. The end result is the same, so I would take my chances...I chose before reading the outcome...

The unknown can be intriguing.

Even as a child, I wanted to know what was waiting just around the corner, in the next town, the next state....That has not changed, I would choose the iron door...

i like this ...i fear i may be a coward as i would pick the door as to escape certainty that much longer...would serve me right if i had heart attack as door opened ha ha lol nice pce tks

Why chose death (rope) when you might have something of a chance (door). If you die, you die, but at least take a chance.

hippie......& yet many would take the rope...fearing what's behind the door may be..worse?.......fear of unknown....
