First before you turn your back and incline to islam you need to know the TRUTH.

Islamist do not worship the True Creator Jesus Christ, and they dont regard him as the only begotten son of God.

Islamist (most of them dont even know) worship Lucifer, sorry but its true!

Islamist stole from the bible and took advise from familiar spirits (Mohammed and "angel Gabriel") that wasnt the real Angel Gabriel making mohammed to write the Quran. That was a false, lying, evil spirit which now unknowingly millions of people follow.

The black cube in Mecca says it all, they give respect by walking round their "star god"

Islamists are star worshippers... look at their flags n symbols.

My advise, pray to Jesus Christ your creator, am sure he will answer you.

Islam has is lie close to Mormonism, for theysay and believe that they got "devine" guidance. Mohammed is a repeat of Joseph Smith story, more lies more lies.

One earth. One truth guys. :)

What a load of tosh
I'm a christian and just because a tiny minority of muslims (terrorists) give Islam a bad name we cannot condem them all.

Are you wellinformedaboutIslam?

informed enough to know that muslims are fooling themselves... when you allow one person to dictate what god wants, as with ANY religion, then you haven't got a grasp yourself...

does your god want the "infidels" destroyed? is that what allah, your "peaceful" god, wants? to kill and mame in horrendous ways?

one guy writes in here allah, who is merciful and kind... does merciful and kind mean to kill all the infidels? anyone who isn't muslim? to strap a bomb on your azz and run into a crowded bus station and kill 40 people that have done nothing wrong?...

get back to me when you understand what "merciful and kind" means...

First before you incline to Islam you need to know the TRUTH.

What is Islam?
Islam is the only religion named by God himself, and is the final and only remaining authentic version of that same Eternal Message of all Prophets, That there is Only One God worthy of Worship, and there are in fact, no other Gods but him. This Message of mercy to mankind started with Adam, and includes of course, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus, and finally through Prophet Muhammad and in the final Scriptures of the Holy Qur'an, a Criterion for life and the last of Gods Revelations.
Muslims are basically divided in two major factions, Sunnis and Shias. Sunni Muslims are the largest denomination of Islam they are currently four recognized schools; Hanafi, Shafi, Maliki and Hanbali. Also there is a school for Sufi. Hanbali is considered to be the most conservative of the four schools.
The Salafi movement was revived by Sheikh Muhammad ibn Abd-al-Wahhab in the Arabian Peninsula, and was instrumental in the rise of the House of Saud to power. Salafism (Wahhabism) is a puritanical and legalistic Islamic movement under the Sunni umbrella (Hanbali), and is the dominant form of Islam in Saudi Arabia. Salafism is, in general, opposed to Sufism and Shi'a Islam, as well as Christians.
Osama bin Laden was a wealthy businessman with close ties to the Saudi royal family. He was the leader of Al-Qaeda.
Al-Qaeda attacked civilian and military targets in various countries. It is intolerant of other branches of Islam, specially Shias, Sufis and other sects regard them as heretics and sometimes issue attacks on their mosques and gatherings.
Al-Qaeda is also known as the International Islamic Front for Jihad against the Crusaders and the Jews. So Al-Qaeda attached churches in Baghdad.
Salafism is a religious method whose influence has spread throughout the Arab world and also in Europe, thanks to the support received from Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States, which have helped expand this peculiar vision of Islam that is very close to Wahhabism. In Europe, it has become a powerful magnet for generations of young Muslims who suffer identity problems,
This ideology, aided by the proselytizing work of radical clerics, has led to the emergence in Europe of small groups with the capability to carry out independent terrorist strikes.
Stephen Schwartz is a senior policy analyst with the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies based in Washington, DC. As a journalist, wrote;
''Al-Qaeda represents Wahhabism in its purest form – a violent fundamentalist doctrine that rejects all non-Wahhabi Islam, especially the spiritual forms of Islam. Wahhabism is an expansionist sect intolerant of Shi‘ite Islam, Judaism, Christianity, and Hinduism; in fact, Wahhabists seek to challenge and destroy these faiths. The Saudi-Wahhabi threat must not be underestimated; it requires our grave attention.
Stephen Concluded;
Saudi Arabia and its militant Islamic doctrines constitute a clear and present danger to the United States and the international community. The U.S. should demand a full accounting of Saudi complicity in the September 11th terrorist attacks. We should no longer accept the status quo and forcefully pressure the kingdom to cut its ties to terrorism.
Rohan Gunaratna wrote about Al Qaeda's Ideology "UNLIKE OTHER TERRORIST GROUPS, AL-QAEDA presents an unprecedented threat to America, its allies, and to global security in general".
The plan of Saudi government to spread Wahhabism consists of the following things;
Building Islamic centers and mosques,
Using oil and money donations,
Support for the Muslim Association and Other Islamic Organizations.
Islamic Organizations send students to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Islamic studies, and organize symposiums on the Islamic Law.
Publishing books and presented them to the principal public libraries and educational organizations.
Those books and activities will build the ideology of Wahhabism i.e (Al Qaeda's Ideology).
Conclusion
You can find the right Islam in Egypt via Al Azhar for Sunnis and in Iran and Iraq for Shias via Imam Hussain.org

Jesus Christ in the Quran
Jesus is unique not only in the Bible. Among all the prophets ever sent to this earth, only Jesus Christ has been given the following titles in the Quran: The Word of God, A Spirit from God and The Messiah.
Both books, the Bible and the Quran, agree that Jesus Christ is unique in the following ways: The virgin birth, His ascension into heaven and His second coming.
The Quran; Allah raised Jesus up unto Himself
Jesus came to Jerusalem, invited them and encouraged them to what is near to Allah for thirty-three years, until the Jews sought him and (afterward) claimed to have punished him and buried him alive. Some of them claimed to have killed him and to have crucified him. Allah did not let them gain sovereignty over him, but it was a mistake they made. They were not able to chastise him or bury him, and they could not kill him or crucify him, because of the saying of Allah, the mighty and magnificent,
I am going to take you away and lift you up unto Me and purify you of those who disbelieve (3:55)
So, they were not able to kill him or crucify him, for if they had been able to do so, this would belie His saying,
Allah raised him up unto Himself (4:158),
The Shiite believes that all the prophets are in a position to intercede with God on behalf of a certain group of sinners. This intercession must be, and is by the leave of God. "No intercessor can plead with Him, except after His leave."
So, Jesus Christ raised the dead to life again, but by the leave of God, and healed the incurable diseases: "By Allah's leave", said Jesus; "I shall give sight to the blind, and heal the lepers, and I raise the dead to life, (with the permission of God.)" The Quran S3: 49.

From the other side:
While we are into pitting a religion against another; maybe it’s in our DNA – fratricide, beginning with Cain & Abel; let me give other side of the story.

Part I is in response to OP Owner and other Mingle member comments.

Part II in response to Mr. Lung’s advocacy and in the defense of Saudi Arabia. There are no conclusions here on who’s right & wrong; it’s just on winning & losing; because between the rulers and the people; the people as usual remain the losers.

Part I: Theology fundas:
1. Most of us are born into religion, so we don’t ‘own’ it at an intellectual level. It’s our culture and so important to our society and our survival; so in that sense, it owns us.
2. Second, all great religions seem to have one defining statement – there is a God, a Creator; so calling Him by any name – what difference does it make to Him?
3. There is only one Man in History who called Lord 'my father’ with such conviction that He was crucified by the powers of that time. (Rather He allowed Himself to be crucified to make just this point)

Permit me to add: Like many non-Christians, I don’t know of any greater man who had compassion for His fellow men, women, so called sinners and even those who would be His enemies. If many of us today, ie., outside of Christianity; think of God in terms of a compassionate father; it’s because of Him.

Islam Originally:
But the Christians, like the Hebrews would not give a ‘name’ to the Lord. He is beyond it. “I’m who am”.

Islam did just that. Allah is the nearest term to OMG from the heart. Originally, Islam unified the wandering and warring tribes of the desert with one simple compulsion - a sacred call for prayer – 5 times in a day; when the tribes, rich and the poor come to the same hall and stood on level and united in prayer. A larger identity was forged that stood them against the crusaders.

Muslim, particularly Saudi, is your best friend in the desert. Consider this. I was working in KSA in a place amongst non-Muslims; where I saw how the absence of water can drive out human decency. A Muslim is trained in Ramdan period to forgo water during the day.

First hand account on Saudi people:
Their prayer calls had vibrations of spirituality – something I have not witnessed in India.
Saudi people do not dislike a non-Muslim; I could sense that they are constrained to follow the Law of their Church and therefore show no enthusiasm to "non believers".
Thanks to the Saudi Government cause they have loosened the grip of the Imams by taking over the religious responsibilities like Haj visitations.

The Govt's real concern lays elsewhere: on the Shia community – the other sect of Islam mainly prevalent in neighboring Iraq and the cause of the Syrian civil war. As a matter of fact, Shia's consider the Sunnis as Wahabi’s, tribals; like a city man would consider a villager.

While on the subject might as well touch upon my religion – a religion of many Gods (avatars) – what appears to be pagan worship. To keep it brief there are two tiers to Hinduism. For those curious about the next level - scientific - here’s a link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izsE5Ty6eCQ.

So reverting to the OP Owner: if you are inclined towards Islam; it’s your personal choice. But again if the choice is for reasons like intolerance to ‘homo-sexuality’, as some members have suggested; then Buddhism maybe a pleasant alternative; their society is less theologically compulsions; no must & should; one can eve drink in extreme climates while conducting the temple rituals; as I saw in Bhutan.

And just in case you are still inclined to walk away from your home turf, remember that getting married to a Muslim woman in mid-east; will cost you an arm and a leg; not to mention the high maintenance.

Part II: The Great Game – 4 parts to this:
To understand one must go around Pres. Reagan’s times:

1. The Mid East belt was distributed like this: Kuwait had US support. Iraq, with it’s largest reservoir of natural gas in the world and the second largest oil reservoir had Russian support. Iran, under the Shah then had US support; Afghanistan was under a Russian propped government. Next to it, Pakistan has US support and India needed Russian support to off-set China’s belligerence. Mr. Bill Gates changed US opinion about India during Clinton’s times. He declared to Congress that the quota for visa’s for Indians be increased or to lose leadership in the software industry. This, at a time when Clinton was trying to save American jobs!

2. In retrospect to Saddam; Osama Bin Laden was initially CIA’s creation; a story that went wrong. A wealthy businessman from Saudi Arabia invited to invest in the Taliban movement in Afghanisthan to counter the Russian propped government. Osama Bin Laden had no special love for the Afghans; there was no oil or gas basins identified; a very poor country nobody was interested except Russia for it’s sea front. But if he could forge to power; Osama would have a country of his own. Today, the Bin Laden family in Saudi, one of the oldest Saudi families with strong links with US corporates; have totally dis-associated themselves from him.

3. Osama’s ambition may appear isolated. Not so, If we go back a little further. Pakistan as we know was part of British India till 1947. When Mr. Jinnah realized that he did not have the support of the Indian Congress to become the PM of free India he left the Congress and joined the then little known party called the Muslim League with its HQ then in UK. Rest is history.

4. Al Qaeda: There are two Taliban’s: One is Afghan based & the other in Pakistan. So you can understand how easily Osama slid over to Pakistan. Again, the people of Pakistan are against Taliban but unable to ferret them out because of their terror tactics. Pak Taliban’s avowed goal is to liberate Kashmir from India; something that is in alignment with the goals of Pak military. So that’s the other complication.

Now while the Western economy is slowly recovering; the Mid East belt: Iraq to India; is neck deep in recession – absolutely no investments and no jobs. The Taliban’s know they cannot ignite a war since chances are under present day world opinion; they will be crushed by their host country. So that’s where we are.

Footnote: It was rogue team that planned the twin tower plane crash. Men like Saddam and Osama leant their names to encourage more such rogues. If Osama had been captured alive and handed over to the Saudi Government he would be rotting in a Saudi prison today & Al Qaeda would have whimpered down. But America needed a villain with a face. Not the slow grind of democratic procedure which would have brought CIA under Congressional scrutiny. Now the rogues have a martyr.

Saudi Arabia's Dark Role in the Syria Conflict
Saudi Arabia responded to uprisings in Bahrain, Egypt and Tunisia in a manner that clearly established the Saudi government as a counter-revolutionary actor in the Arab Awakening. However, by providing vast financial aid and weapons to anti-Assad militants, it has sided with forces promoting regime change. Saudi Arabia's role in the Syria conflict is driven by several regional and domestic objectives -- from destroying the Syria-Iran alliance to distracting the Saudi population from domestic problems to a desire to ensure that the Afghanistan experience of the 1980s is not replicated in the Levant.
As the Syrian regime is Iran's closest Arab state ally, the Saudis view regime change in Syria as an opportunity to deal a major blow to Iran, its Shia allies in Iraq and Lebanon, and Shia elements in the Kingdom opposed to Wahhabi rule. Given that 74 percent of Syrians practice Sunni Islam, the Saudi government would like to use its religious authority and economic resources to acquire influence over a post-Assad order -- at Tehran and Hezbollah's expense.
Saudi clerics have relied on the Middle East's explosive sectarian divisions to motivate Saudi youth to travel to Syria and wage jihad against the Shia/Alawite political order, but as many Syrians (both pro and anti-Assad) are secularists who practice a moderate form of Islam, the widespread rejection of Wahhabism in Syria undermines Riyadh's soft-power there. Despite providing jihadists with weaponry and money, King Abdullah fears blowback from the "holy war" against the Assad regime.

Wahhabism in the United States
A study conducted by the NGO Freedom House found Wahhabi publication in mosques in the United States. These publications included statements that Muslims should not only "always oppose" infidels "in every way", but "hate them for their religion ... for Allah's sake", that democracy" is responsible for all the horrible wars of the 20th century", and that Shia and certain Sunni Muslims were infidels.
Saudi government spreads Wahhabism in Japan
The plan of Saudi government to spread Wahhabism consists of the following steps;
Building Cultural Relations between Saudi Arabia and Japan,
Building Islamic center and mosques,
Using oil and money donations,
Support for the Japan Muslim Association and Other Islamic Organizations in Japan.
Islamic Organizations in Japan send Japanese students to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Islamic studies, and organize symposiums on the Islamic Law (Sharee'ah).
Publishing books and presented them to the principal public libraries and educational organizations all over Japan. Those books and activities will build the ideology of Wahhabism in Japan.
Reports mentioned that;
The major financial and cultural assistance for Islamic activities in Japan came mainly from Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, government and citizens.

Wahhabi Muslim trophy in Syria
These subhuman Muslims killed a young Christian girl. She was beheaded in Syria, in their jihad to Allah. This is Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Turkey supported handiwork. Qatar and Saudi Arabia fund and send thousands of terrorists into Syria.
Wahhabis in Afghanistan and in Syria play soccer with severed heads
There are videos at Youtube show Wahhabis decapitated their victims and play soccer with the chopped of heads. The criminals whom you can see in videos are not ordinary Muslims, but Wahhabis. Only a small minority (about 3-5%) of the world’s billion Muslims are Wahhabis despite the tens of billions of petrodollars spent by the Saudis propagating their creed.
Wahhabis are pouring into Europe with forged passports from Syria and Saudi Arabia. In Sweden, for example, many Muslim population in Malmo is believed to possess fake passports. These passports were then registered as valid through a Muslim person working in the immigration services.
