We are in a State of Emergency here in Calgary and some surrounding areas. My thoughts are with my fellow Calgarians and Albertans who are suffering from the flooding that we are having here. Hoping that the waters will subside soon.

My thoughts and prayers are with my fellow Canadians at this dreadful time. I hope it doesn't get any worse, but I heard more rain is expected. Stay safe Navy Girl, Happy to hear you are ok . Thanks. It was touch and go for a while if I was even going to get home due to all the road closures. Sadly; we are expecting more rain. However; we are all pulling together. I have offered my home if folks need a place to stay and many others have done the same. The saving grace is the city shut down the downtown core very early and issued warnings early too, so it could be much worse than it is. Our emergency crews have been awesome. |

The water is still okay at this point and the mayor has just announced that its all good but has asked we be careful with using water unnecessarily. |

I really hope the water levels slow down. I'm glad you are on dry ground. I used to live in Calgary, and know ther are lots of low spots! Here in Edmonton, things are currently fine. My hats off to all the service men and women
  who render aid in such emergencies. I read that there are major roads out/closed, too. Stay close to home and be safe! Thinking of you. |
