Seriously will you all please stop texting while you are driving and put your make-up on at home, oh one other thing you cut me off, I didn't cut you off, so don't be flashing the bird cause I honked my horn at you, ok that was my rant for the day, sorry if you find offense with this post, a recent poll shows over half the US female population apply make-up while driving, even with young children in the vehicle.

Had such a horrible drive to work this morning and instances like this only compound it.

At least we aren't trying to get our girlfriends to give us blowjobs while we're driving, and most of the people I've seen text while driving have been guys...

Yeah, there's definitely not just one sex that texts while driving.

My cousin got hit in the rear end by somebody that was texting. She has had problems with her neck since then. It was a young man that hit her.

I see no difference between female drivers and male drivers when it comes to bad driving.

for the record...I have never put make up on in the car and my phone stays in my purse when I'm in the car

My apologies to all the female board members, just having a bad day, but I feel I have just cause, 3 accidents one on a motorcycle that nearly crippled me, one vehicle accident that totaled my car, another vehicle accident that tore my cars front end off, were all caused by females, and to top it all off in all 3 instances the perpetrators insisted I was at fault, even though I had witnesses in all 3 accidents, women are given much more lead way then men in society, which every guy knows or has been a victim of this double stranded oh in all 3 cases, the court gave them a slap on the wrist compared to a man, doubled standards in society is a fact, granted there are instances where a male will benefit as well in most cases this happens in the work place usually involving disparities in pay and sexual harassment.

OK. I found the Daily Mail article which says, "Nearly HALF of women apply make-up behind the wheel, causing as many as 450,000 car accidents A YEAR."

Notice that the article doesn't say that half of U.S. female population does it. The MSN report is citing a British survey.

I believe that miko1960 has a legitimate complaint.
Drivers who wear make-up should not be putting on make-up while driving.

I have seen it all during my daily commute; women putting on make-up, people reading newspapers, eating (I am not making this up) bowls of cereal, texting, messing around with something in the back seat (sometimes it's a kid in a carseat), having such an animated conversation (complete with hand gestures using both hands of course)
that they seem to have forgotten that they are driving two tons of steel and aluminum at a mile a minute, or even what lane they were in. Combine them with the BMW driving Mario Andretti wannabes, and it can be real chaos on todays roads.

Automobiles have become too easy to drive and licenses too easy to get. Go back to cars with manual transmissions, no power steering,
no power brakes, and stiff suspensions. Make people take driving
courses for two years before they are allowed on the road.
And have cops enforce inattentive driving laws instead of hiding behind billboards looking for someone going five miles an hour over the speed limit.

Maybe then people will take driving seriously.

And the people I saw texting while driving today were men. I've seen women do it as well, just not today.

On my way home this evening I was driving in the left-hand lane on a one-way street... a guy in the lane to the right of me suddenly crossed in front of me to make a left-hand turn. With NO turn signal, either.

It's a damn good thing I have quick reflexes when I'm behind the wheel. Friggin' idiot.

Oh, and then there was the time I saw a guy reading a book while he was driving down the interstate.

That happened not too long ago to me. It was a guy and out of nowhere, he cut in front of me like you described from the right hand lane to make a left hand turn.

Of course, bad behavior while driving isn't gender specific.

Still, that British survey of female drivers isn't invalidated by the existence of bad male drivers.

Let's just say that both genders are equals when it comes to bad driving habits.

I'd like the OP to explain then why insurance rates are so much higher for young male drivers under 27? The rates are based on accident statistics.
