There is so much porn out there, that for example, after school a kid is walking home and he goes into 7/11 for candy. HE SEES the magazines on the rack, and little parts of the raunchy ones behind the counter. So he walks home eating his M&Ms and and begins to develop an impression of women. There is a problem here, in my opinion.Any commentary?

The porn producers are just doing the work of their master, more guests for hell, including children. But whose work are you doing,God or the dark forces?

pretty sure that how he's taught at home, and the Values his Parents impart on the Kid have more Influence than some inadvertent exposure to Pornography, whatever that is!

Difficult one. Unless you'd have a study group in the exact same setting, but without the porn, it's an educated guess at best.
I think the influence of pop-stars and their video clips kids get to see, is far bigger than a magazine that on the top shelf, not on eye-level for the kid.

I also think the way parents raise the child is a very important factor here, as their education of the child can put things in perspective.

Interesting topic.. I think things like that should not be seen by kids but parents need to aware of what their kids are exposed to.

This. I think how we educate, or really don't about sex, does a lot more harm than any porn ever could. We make it all a forbidden fruit, and we all should know what happens when you do that, it makes the desire for said fruit stronger. If we educated our kids about their hormones, their sexuality, and how to express it all healthily, porn would not impact them as it does now I believe, nor would they be acting out on their own half as much as they do. To me it starts with the parent.

We try so hard to protect our kids on this topic, that we end up in the long run pushing them from us I believe. We need to be communicating with them.........not just trying to dictate. You'd have a much more well adjusted, sexually responsible society if you did that in my opinion. What we are seeing now is a result of repression of what is only natural in all human beings. Take that lid off it all and I think you'd see changes, but not before.

children are sponges, they soak up the media, their environment, the culture, the children and adults behaviors around them

I think the most we can do is set an example for them as parents and as adults in general,,and to show them the BALANCE that media doesn't show,,, like some of the negatives that can come from those behaviors that are otherwise glamourized in media and porn

I have 4 teenage boys and they have seen lots of things, but they are teenage boys. I don't know what is normal there but it isn't that big a deal where I am.
My 13 year old son was given a little metal safe and a number to ring to get free condoms from his school.
Not sure how much sex education is taught there but here the kids are taught pretty early.
None of my kids are shy so talking about sex or discussing what they see is not a problem, sex is pretty normal so is nakedness.
I guess it all depends how you look at it.
