Foodstamp Program Shutdown Imminent?

To wit: "understanding the operational issues and constraints that States face, and in the interest of preserving maximum flexibility, we are directing States to hold their November issuance files and delay transmission to State electronic benefit transfer (EBT) vendors until further notice." In other words, as Fox13News summarizes, "States across the country are being told to stop the supplemental nutrition assistance program for the month of November, pending further notice."

Why are the people who are anti-government worried about what kinds of government programs are going to be shut down?

Most of us aren't anti-gov't, we're anti-tyranny! Some Gov't is necessary when held within its Constitutional authority, but this admin wants to rewrite the document, or the parts of it, that limit or minimize their authority, by using other unconstitutional laws (Patriot Act, NDAA, FISA Court) to rewrite or retranslate that authority.

It's not about our ability to pay the interest on the debt, it's the POTUS saying he will not pay it if he doesn't get his way, thereby spitting in the face of EVERY American by not paying, not failing to, BUT NOT PAYING the debt as he is obligated, authorized, and able, to do.

It is he who has decided what parts of gov't should be deemed "non-essential", but the revenue has already been collected to more than cover our payment to avoid default.

86% of gov't is still running. It is civilian staffers and citizens he has chosen to target! The ones who actually can't afford to be out of work......as usual!

So the Republican party and all the other members of congress have nothing to with the shut down?
And food stamps are not part of some wide government plan to make dependent sheeple out of all of us?
And a president duly elected by a clear majority of people, twice,
is a tyrant?

I'll give you a score of 50 on that one.

Not much over 1/2 the voters voted, and like McLames' bid, there wasn't a republican (other than Ron Paul who was black-balled) worth taking the effort to vote for, and Obozo ran basically unchallenged.

Not hard to win a race when the other runners shoot themselves in the foot.

"A big lie being perpetrated by the Obama Administration and mainstream media is that if Congress does not raise the $14.3 trillion national debt ceiling, the nation will default on its obligations. This is nothing more than a scare tactic. Just like a consumer credit limit, if the debt ceiling is reached, this will simply mean that the Treasury cannot issue new debt. The existing debt could still be refinanced, but interest owed on the debt would have to be paid out of revenue and the budget would also have to be balanced immediately. That is not a default."

"The Obama Administration needs to stop lying about the debt ceiling, and level with the American people about the dire fiscal catastrophe the nation faces with a debt so large that it cannot be paid."

Don't fall for the spin coming from the Obama administration.

Your giving the "Republican party" and "all the other members of congress" have nothing to with the shut down way to much credit for the failure to govern that we have now. Last time that I heard the Senate was controlled by the Dems, including Reid and Pulosi. They would like to share some of the credit I'm sure.
Do some research and see how much the entitlement programs have grown since your duly elected president took office. No wonder he was elected by those looking for a meal ticket and a cell phone.

While I do agree with you on some of the things the Obama administration is doing, such as giving way to many handouts.. But on the otherhand he has done alot to actually "help" the lower class american.. Answer me this what have congress done about increasing minimum wage,? Minimum wage has been the same since I was working in high school.. What about controlling the price of goods.? Why is it that the average worker is yet to see an increase per hour, but everything around us is steadily increasing.? This isnt a Democrat or Republican problem its simply a senate and congress problem, they sit around talking about nothing important... Why is it that businesses feel the need to move to other countries to increase their profits, and why do they get tax breaks for it.? Why shouldnt they get penalized for moving over seas instead of a bigger payday.? We can make shoes, clothes, and lighters lol!! The problem is that we are too dependent on other countries for things we need no help for.. Why is bagged salads coming from mexico.?? a freaken batch of lettuce.??!! I can grow lettuce in my backyard!! no reason for that to be happening!!

Your first mistake is assuming by my post i believe the govt works for me.. Out of 44 presidents only one is black, thats not working for me at all... I work for the govt, paying property taxes, food taxes, ssi that I might not even get when I get old, and the taxes they take out of my check... We pay their salaries so they can work for america, I don't believe in all these conspiracy theories, its al about thee almighty dollar at the end of the day.. save the O its the Dems or its the republicans, no its them as a whole trying to blame the other party for the problems in america...

In regards to the whole budget and shutdown of funds....I think the main job of the president is traveling and passing the buck. Nobody is going to deal with our financial crisis, just like Arnold Schwarzennegar did nothing for California's budget, a selling point when running for office but how soon they forget when they are elected.

They don't have as much to with it as the Fuhrer does. At least they are willing to compromise and go across the aisle.
