Maybe those who find this disgraceful and disrespectful in this kind of setting (not a funeral/memorial service where people are somber) can explain why. Can anyone explain why this has conservatives so upset? You think this has conservatives upset? It's not about being upset, it's about using any ammunition possible to attack the "opposition". And this is something that liberal do just much if not more than conservatives. It's like when the mob used to say "this isn't personal it's business" only with this "it isn't personal, it's political". I can use that analogy without being accused of being disrespectful since I'mm Italian.  Well, they're good at making themselves look stupid by attacking him about this. |

Too bad the administration couldn't shut out press photographers from this event and only release edited pictures taken by the White House photographer the way they do with other events. See what can happen when things aren't staged, scripted and edited. I don't see anything horrible about that photo or think it's a big deal in and of itself. However I do think the attention an unscripted moment like this is getting may prove to make this administration even less transparent....if that's at all possible. I think shaking Raul Castro hand may prove to be more troublesome for him, especially among Cuban Americans and other legal immigrants from oppressive countries. thee shall keep thine friends close and thine enemies closer still Obama is a wuss but he ain;t no dummy michelle is class act. always. nuff said |

I personally think it's not appropriate for them to take selfies when they should be focusing on the event. I think it makes them looking silly. But I'm not going to be up in arms about it. There are plenty of things the prez does to be up in arms about. Obamacare anyone?

You mean ALL of those conservatives are making themselves look the way SOME liberals did when they nitpicked anything and everything that Bush did? I've learned that those who accuse others are often guilty of their own accusations. You are making a generalization about "conservatives" and painting them all with the same brush. It isn't fair or logical to do that with liberals or conservatives. SMH End of report. |

but when I go to a circus,, or attend a dance, I don't stare at the band the whole time they are on stage, or the actors in the circus I also mingle and talk and possibly take photos with those around me I think many americans do the same,,,,,,,, the photographer himself has said as much I have yet to see VIDEO of the moments this was happening, but I feel strongly americans are ASSUMING That every culture has the same ceremonies we do after death and follows the same protocol I don't see anything silly about blending into the culture around you, and , from the photographers own words, south Africans didn't throw some stuffy event where everyone came and just started at a stage for five hours they threw a party where people were dancing, and happy, and celebrating |

I thought thus was a memorial, not a circus. Not the same thing to me. What other opinions are, I don't care. I don't think it's appropriate at a memorial to take selfies. Mingling, etc is fine
I prefer to reflect on the person the memorial is for and discuss that person |

People have their own opinions. I'm not saying people should find it inappropriate because I do. We are all different. But I won't think it's ok because some do. I'm also not up in arms for or against. Kinda silly. But but but.......don't you understand that radicals don't think anyone else should have a different view or opinion on any issue? Their opinions are right and absolute, they should never be questioned or disagreed with.....and if you don't agree they make ridiculous accusations which may or may not be true. It's straight out of "Rules for Radicals" by Saul Alinsky. It's kind of funny that radicals(right or left) don't like other radicals using the same tactics. |
