They say those that fail to plan; plan to fail. With that thought in mind and many here hoping to date someone maybe find a happy relationship in the New Year what would you plan to do that would make dating be more likely to happen and be productive? Ideas are great as is just brainstorming. Please be encouraging to others.

I am thinking I need to join a couple new activities.

Maybe try polishing off some of my out of date dance moves lol.

Getting some new pictures made for the family and my profile.

Thanks Navygirl; I sure appreciate that. Think my heart has been hung up on your side of the border is part of the problem.

I'm beginning to feel like dating more often. I haven't dated a whole lot as of yet, didn't really feel the need.
I do plan to go out more, meet more people. There's this single's thing, basically like a forum, where ppl can organize all kinds of events, trips etc. I'm going a get-together beginning of January. Just to meet some people, and I'm organizing an evening out myself, pub thing, with other singles from that forum. That is working out, got some people interested.
Not men per say, just singles. I want to get new friends, singles, like me, that I can go out with, do fun things with. That way the chances of meeting that one guy will increase as well.
So I'm planning to become more active, get more of a social life going. (My current friends are in relationships, so they're not interested in going to a pub on Friday & Saturday evenings)

Crystal that sounds like a good idea. It is tough when so many of the people you know are already couples.

When I lived in Atlanta we had a movie group that met on a certain night of the week mid week at the "cheapo" theaters usually where there was a food court in walking distance where people would gather for snacks (some even brought along). Those that showed would take the local movie page out of the paper and whatever movie go the most votes (circle 1st, 2nd, and 3rd) was the next movie and you could call the host/hostess' answering machine to see what it was going to be. Made a lot of friends because only friends spread the word to friends and if you didn't get voted in after being a guest three times well you didn't get a call back for the next movie location. Same went for people who tried to bring drama to the group if the majority of the board voted that someone needed to be suspended. Only happen a couple of times in five or more years. Because friendships formed there were times when folks actually babysat if it was not a favorite movie and one week a month the movie was usually "family" oriented.

I was just thinking about the things I wanted to change to get me out of the house and meet new people. Ive had a few bad experiences with the online dating. I live in a small community so the opportunities to meet new people are sliim but I have been thinking about taking a night course at school or maybe join a club.

I've decided to date less in 2014. I think in my rush to get over "him" I've been making, horrible decisions.
This year my dating plan is quality over six pack lol seriously,I'm not dating unless he and I can get through 3 conversations without him telling me how wonderful he is. you'd be surprised how many, men lead with this?!

Hi Carollee,
Welcome to a new face. Such a great smile. Going to let you be my new book critic. Being from a smaller community can present challenges to meet new folks but you can always pal up with other Mingler's and drive to events on occasion. Again welcome aboard!

Well I agree quality over quantity is usually a good way to go. I tend to agree with limiting the guys who sell themselves too hard but I would leverage that with being careful not to shoot a guy down for falling on his own sword if you ask him to tell you something about himself. The old thing about the "hardest job to do well is not the job but getting the job." This whole dating stuff is really hard.

Some of those first date questions are soooooooooh tough.

I am not sure I understand what you mean by that? Was there someone in Canada that you were interested in?

Lost my heart to an american who turned out to be a scam artist. So hard to believe anything people say online. I do find it difficult to find guys in my area. And Thank you PacificStar dor the compliment. Merry Christmas to everyone. And hope that 2014 finds you in the arms of the one you love
